I was browsing a couple online gun stores, and noticed some good looking guns.

Some Colt branded ones really caught my eye, which brings me to my next question. Does anybody have any experience with these 1911 .22's?

Cam, read BAC's guide to 1911's at the top of the page. I hear the .22's shoot very well but have never tried one. Good luck.

Sorry, but you won't find any rimfire 1911s in my guide.

If you're talking about the latest crop of rimfire 1911 style pistols, I think the Sig branded model is probably the best. I really don't care for any of them though.

There are conversion kits available. I have a Kimber .22 conversion kit that I put on a Kimber Eclipse once in a while.

Then when I'm bored with that it's easy to switch back to .45acp.

The kit has been very reliable.

The kits are much better than these cheap pot metal rimfires on the market.

I have a GSG 1911-22 which is a blast to shoot. Over 80% of the parts are interchangable, and it has the same size and grip as a .45. I haven't had a single problem with it, other than finding extra magazines.

The GSG is below the Taurus .45.http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s472/keith2814/IIdozenguns.jpg

I have a Sig 1911 22 and a Browing 1911 22, I would not say either one is cheap, but the browning is the better of the two !
