Recommend me a record player

I grew up in the era of cassette tapes and CD's so I know next to nothing of record players. My dad has handed me down a large collection of vinyl records that I would love to be able to listen to.

Looking for something inexpensive since it wouldn't be a serious hobby (not yet anyway). I see a lot of sub-$100 players on Amazon. Any good? Any particular brand or features? What about speakers?

I'd like to recreate how it would have sounded back in the 60's when my dad was listening to these same records. Am I better off looking for something used on E-bay?

Denon made nice ones too, but I don't know if you can find one in the sub $100 range.

This would be a decent bare bones unit. In case your stereo amp doesn't have phono inputs, it also has a built-in preamplifier with line-level outputs for connecting to amplifiers without turntable inputs. If that is important to you there may be some other under $100 units there that offer this feature since this particular one seems to be temporarily out of stock.
