Good Luck to those who are looking for one.
Not too bad a price for sure, and a nice gun shop/range:thumbsup:

That's not a great price. Considering the amount of work that has to be put into an SR1911 when you get it, there are other pistols that would be a better value in that price range. Springfield and Colt's will get you closer to a usable gun -- with less effort on your part -- than the SR1911 at that price.
Now, if it were down around $600, you might be in the ballpark.
What is the work required?

My SR 1911 works and shoots fine. But I'm not a 1911 snob either.:dunno:

Mine shot fine right out of the box.
Not a single issue and groups nicely.

Absolutely no work 'needs' to be done with the SR 1911.
....unless you are a 1911-snob

The same can be said of almost all the other 1911's out there too.
My SR1911 is another great product from Ruger.

That is not a bad price. I got mine in a couple Ruger sponsered sales in the SW. You got in right after the store opened. Stand in line at and they had a few at great prices. I do not think they need anything, but people do not like the blued MSH and grip safety, etc and switch it out.
