Sweet Baby Ray's is my favorite big brand.

This on BBQ/Smoked chicken and pork. Just had some tonight on Pork Ribs. Brushed on 15-20 minutes before taking off. Let sit for 20 minutes then dig in.

They have a few flavors, I like the Honey BBQ.

I love mustard base sauces and frequently make my own.

If you make one, try adding some sweet relish for a difference. Did this the last two times, second time correct amount, and really liked the "new" taste of my sauce.

I rarely, if ever, use store bought sauces. I will occasionally use a local BBQ joint's traditional sauce. (For those in/near N'east Fla, The Pig's mustard based table sauce is Da Bombdiggity!)

If you ever get down this way people swear by this place. I am not a mustard sauce fan so I can't comment but I have friends that will drive an hour for this stuff!

I love to smoke meats and BBQ, but if I am using any store bought sauce, its Sweet Baby Rays. They are just good, plain and simple. The price is right too. They actually arent a bad sauce to use as a base.

I like to water it down with vinegar and add some other spices to it to make a thinner sauce for my pulled pork too.

Of all the Sweet Baby Ray's lovers I know, they instantly converted to Bone Suckin' Sauce once I turned them on to it. I like the "hot" version.

For my chicken, it is Carolina Treet! I cook on the grill and the wife in the oven, either way it is a distinct and delicious way to do chicken. It is made in Wilmington, NC and can be found at grocery stores in Carolinas or ordered online. Here is link to website........http://www.carolinatreet.com/

Make a change, get something different. Either make your own, it's pretty darned simple, or try out some of the other stuff like a locally made sauce on your supermarket shelves. If you like the online shopping stuff, the Blues Hog is fantastic sauce, I prefer their Tennessee Red Sauce on just about EVERYTHING.

ANGELO’S ORIGINAL BBQ SAUCE
House recipe for more than 50 years. This sauce is a great complement to your favorite BBQ. Not too sweet, not too tart, JUST RIGHT. Serve on the side or basted on your favorite BBQ meat.

This line of sauces is locally produced and is the best I have ever used. The habanero is my favorite but they are all good.

For store bought sauce, Sweet Baby Rays Honey barbq sauce is probably the best, and usually goes on sale for next to nothing once or twice a year. On chicken though, I like homemade mustard sauce the best.

On chicken, the best sauce is a WHITE sauce like this:

Or you can search for recipes for "white BBQ sauce," and make something similar.

LOVE white bbq sauce! Big Bob's is awesome.

For red bbq sauce, I prefer Curts made locally in Dalton, MN.

I don't like BBQ Sauces with HFCS. It is hard to find one without HFCS, anything with corn, canola oil, soybean oil, etc. They do the nasty stuff in your body and that is why the Americans are getting fat with diabetic 2 and heart issues.

Yep...and I could tell Sweet Baby Ray's has it in there. That makes it maybe 1 step above crappy BBQ sauces like Kraft.

The least you could do is post a BBQ sauce you do like instead of crapping on the thread.

Ok, I'll do that in next few days.

I think I liked Trade Joe's Kanas BBQ Sauce and it has met all the requirements as I have described.

I was raised on Cornell BBQ Sauce. Really easy to make.

This is the famous barbecue sauce created at Cornell University's Farm Home Extension in the 1950's.
Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: Makes about 3 1/3 cups

Ingredients:

2 cups vinegar
1 cup oil
1 egg
3 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
black pepper to taste

Preparation:

Put Ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Marinate chicken in sauce for at least 1-2 hours (overnight is good), baste while cooking.

Has a very distinctive flavor. This obviously in not tomato based so it is most likely different than anything you have other had. It was very common for fund raising BBQ's in Western NY to use only this recipe when they did their chicken.
