Ruggles

I wanted a "car gun" that was relatively inexpensive. I carry my other 1911s daily but since I can't carry at work I sometimes need to leave a gun in my car. I do not want to leave my more expensive 1911s in a car in a parking lot for 10 hours at a time for obvious reasons. Also for times when I will be somewhere where I will have to leave my gun in the car for days at a time (Airport, cruise terminal etc). So all of that and I wanted an excuse to buy a new gun :)
Looked at the Range Office (nice gun) and a few Kimbers. But went the the R1 as it seemed the best combo of being pretty nice and a good price, $659 before tax. I looked at some other (non 1911s) handguns but pretty much do not care for the ergonomics of anything non 1911 these days :dunno:
Crappy pics to follow.

First impressions are over good. The only two things I would be critical of are the finish which appears to be a little cheap feeling. It might be great and hold up but just feels questionable to me. And the trigger is a bit mushy, not bad but a little mushy. The overall fit and finish appears to be pretty good.
They had one of the Browning .22LR 1911 ($520) and that thing was just tiny & cute :)
So not knowing a whole bunch about the R1 I was hoping to get some first hand feedback from owners. Anybody have one and what do you think? :wavey:
