In case you haven't noticed, the NDAA was passed tonight.

Oh, that wacky John McCain. He's swell, isn't he?

Now, Americans can be detained indefinitely.

Those republicans are swell, huh?

Merry Christmas from your congress.

Considering it was a Republican senator that pushed for the power to hold americans indefinitely don't expect much of an acknowledgment here. This thread was in the middle of page 2 with no comments when I found it. You would have been better off lying and saying a Democrat did it.

Have a great gun carryin' Kenpo day

Yep. We've been debating the AWB for days. Yet, this is an actual theft of liberty.

Those damn tyrants did this and then snuck out of DC, led by John McCain.

I'm more concerned with retards like Sen. Blumenthal (D-CT) who was on CNN with Wolf Blitzer last night yakking about how we need to ban 'High-Velocity Magazines,' and how he is an NRA member and a hunter.

I had just turned the TV on when I saw him preening, and unfortunately, when I tried to play it back from the DVR so I could record it and post it to YouTube, it hadn't recorded enough of his stupidity.

Can't find the clip on Google yet either.

john mccain is many things but a conservative he is NOT.

just because one has an (R) or (D) after their name does NOT mean they are conservative or communist respectively, generally it does but not always.

McCain has been trying for several years to what Obama has accomplished in a few.

As I keep saying about the R's and D's, they are both about depriving liberty, and controlling our lives. Their only argument is how.

That's an excellent statement.

I thought you're either on the blue team or the red team and that's all there is to it. Now you're telling me that isn't true? What am I suppose to do now, think?

Blue pill or red pill. Which do you choose Neo? Pain or pain? Slavery or slavery? Work so that others may live or work so that others may live?
You have a choice. Choose one. WHAT?!?!?! Don't like those choices? A Wise Guy, huh? Well then, now you're talking. Join Us. Become one of us. Then you too, once you pass the election test of course (you ARE a lawyer... right?), then and only then do you get to tell the underlings... Red? or Blue? :whistling:

The AWB might happen. The NDAA did happen.I never said the NDAA was irrelevant or acceptable.

But I'm more concerned that Congress may decide to ban guns, than I am about being the victim of a warrantless search, with indefinite incarceration prior to my 6th Amendment rights being enforceable.

Not that that's not incredibly frightening, and unbelievably fascist.

But I'm not as worried about it...personally.

I think we both agree that we are living under a fascist oligarchy form of goverenment with a good dose of socialism and communism in the mix.
