I know the age old discussion about 9 vs 40 vs 45 has been ran into the ground. I took my 14 year old to the indoor range today, i took my .40 s&w shield and my glock 30, which i recently got in a private sale. Got a few terrorist holding a ak-47 paper targets and threw some lead down range. I have always shot the .40 pretty good and i trust it, my son had a lot of trouble shooting it with any accuracy, but the glock 30 he could do pretty good with. Personally, i was doing headshots at 30 feet and grouping less than 4 inches. The revelation was, as much as i thought i needed a subcompact .40, i just plain shoot better with the .45. I don't think i have ever shot so good with a 9mm. Guess it's a no brainer what i'm carrying now.
