View Full Version : California compliant AR
Is the current Ca compliant AR in line with the old AWB?
Serious question here.
PLEASE no gun control/government posts.
I have a friend who is exploring all possibilities on modifying his Noveske 6.8 he uses for hunting. This includes making his California compliant. IF he has too.
Thanks.
No, we can have just about all the "evil" features as long as a bullet button is installed.
Yep, just replace the mag release with a bullet button. You can get them online for under $20. Replace the mag release with the BB and you're good to go. Just remember no mags over 10 rounds. Even if the mags are pre-2000 and legally owned. You can not use them in an AR even with a BB. 10 rounders or less only.
So it CAN be a detachable magazine? As long as it is 10 rounds or less.
No flash hider/muzzle brake
Pinned or fixed stock
Thanks guys.

Well, the BB makes it technically a "non-detachable" magazine so it becomes CA legal.
Then you can use all the ten rounders you want, as long as it takes a "tool" to release, which can be the tip of a bullet.
Yes on flash hiders, muzzle brakes, bayonet lug, collapsing stock, pistol grip, bipod, can opener, key ring, first aid kit, sunglasses holder, CD changer, Blu-Ray player, lasers, lights, cameras, action, whatever you want it to be.
The key point is that there are CA assault weapons, but having a BB makes it a non-assault weapon, so all the assault weapons restrictions no longer apply.
Key ring, bottle opener! Hahaha
I had a stupid thought the mag had to be permanently affixed.
Thanks guys.
