Well as a former LEO with 20 Years experience, I can say his comments and his attitude are a JOKE!

The guy is a horse's ass. I've sent him some choice words on a couple occasions.

He only posts the positive comments though.

I don't think 1911s suck. I shot a Wilson Combat CQB this afternoon and enjoyed it thoroughly. I am much more familiar with Glocks, though. I've been shooting Glocks around 18 years now. I'm just familiar with them and comfortable with them. Once I practiced more with a 1911, especially one like I shot today, I'm sure I would feel just as comfortable with 1911s as I would Glocks.

He lost all creditability when he talked about the "1911" not holding a lot of "bullets". If he was who he said he was he would not use the word bullet when referring to ammunition or rounds.
As for a 1911 that works correctly once again he has no idea what he is talking about. Using the term 1911 as a blanket statement when talking about a platform that is made by many different manufactures also clues me in on his ignorance.
Don't get me wrong I love Glocks but I also love Colt Government Models both of which are reliable sidearms.
Another mistake is when he said the 1911 was not originally designed with the grip safety, incorrect it was not originally developed with the thumb safety. Also the original 1911 came with a flat MSH.
Tolerance stacking can be an issue with anything that is mass produced.

I keep watching his videos. I honestly feel for the guy. Something is eating at him. He says some stuff that I think is helpful. He did post another video about "good" 1911's. Even a broken watch...

*In mickey mouse voice*

"B..B..B..B...But, he's been in combat environments for over 20 years! And he's wearing a super macho t-shirt!"

Anyway, I stopped watching around the time he started *****ing about ammo capacity. Does a Colt Python or a Ruger Security Six suck too because it has low capacity? No. It's chambered in 357. Magnum. A very versatile round, whether you're defending yourself from a decent sized animal or a human.

Personally, I've been shooting 1911's of several different brands since I was about 10, and still continue to this day. They'll always be an American classic for me.

My old Kimber has been flawless. It is my reference to determine if a shooting problem is me or a new gun. They are the sweetest shooting of all.

I carry something else for other reasons.

The Kimber TLE II was the first handgun I ever fell in love with. I was about 11 and we rented it for the day at Iron Sights gun range in Oceanside, CA.

Too bad I would've had to mow about 100 lawns at that age to afford one. :wavey:

Yeager isn't conceited.....he's CONVINCED. I regularly read his site's forums. Kinda like seeing a car wreck. You know it's coming, but you can't help watching.

in all fairness, running from a gun fight is best if able, unless its leaving somebody behind.

what were the circumstances to his running from a gun fight?

I don't like the guy at all, seems to be all immature attitude. That being said I have watched the video of that gun fight and it really was not conclusive to me. I did not see that guy "run away" like in a bad movie or something anyways.

Besides he has already said if anyone wants to call him a coward to his face he will pay for their plane ticket to come see him and do so

Yeah that is the kinda guy I want to train with, a guy who loses his temper on the internet.

i dont care what he says about 1911s either, but without definite reasoning and proof i question those whove never been in a gun fight and getting shot back at calling somebody out who has.

You and me both. Maybe if he would have thrown his hands in the air and screamed like a 8 year girl I would have noticed it more :)

At what point (time) into the video am I looking for?

As I said I think the guy is a top shelf asshat but I am just not seeing it. Could very well be me though missing it.

What a tard, I have a safe full of Glocks and 1911's I love them all and they all work 100% or they go away, they are all tools to me, I donít collect anything for aesthetics alone. I have done firearms instruction in CA and Protective Services for 30 years everywhere on this planet - YouTube too many idiots egos!

I don't necessarily disagree with him on a lot of points. One thing for certain is that I would not allow a noob gun person to purchase a $500 1911 over a $500 Glock as a first gun.

I have seen more Glock 21s turn into hammers on the range than I have 1911s though

I really can't believe this thread is still going. Yeager is a ********* and I'm a Glock fan. My two favorite pistol platforms are Glock and the 1911. But an idiot is an idiot. Period. :faint:

I love the part where 1911's originally came with an arched mainspring housing like a Glock.

Hey, everyone has an opinion.
I'm sure he's a bad ass, but so what.
There are a lot of bad asses in this world.
A lot of them prefer 1911's.

There are a lot of guns in this world.
Anyone of them will kill equally well if used properly.

Not this duuuche again.....

It's like all the wannabe operators of today have forgotten that the 1911 has already made it through a few wars.

If this afternoon at 16:00 you knew you were going to a gun fight....you telling me 1911 would be your weapon of choice?

I am a 1911 shooter but if I knew I was going to a gun fight I think I would choose the FN F2000. I think my chance of getting to shoot my 1911 again would be greater
