More price gouging from CTD. Looks like they are trying to alienate the entire shooting community.

well, i went by the store and they were sold out of everything so you can't really blame them. If demand goes up so will prices - I'm betting you won't be helping them out by giving them money if a weapon/ammo ban goes through. they would likely go out of business shortly after given tactical guns are such a huge part of their business.

Actually, they're selling their products for prices their customers will pay. It's called "Free Market Capitolism".

I've bought lots of stuff from CTD, when it's priced right, and will do so again if it works out that way.

Well you won't have to wait in line behind a bunch of others on here while you shop at CTD so you should be happy

Those guys have really taken a kick in the nards on their reputation with their antics both in 2008 and now.....screw em I say :wavey:

I can buy 1000 rounds of Hornady TAP for $850ish, and that is fairly pricey stuff.

Stocked up after the 2008 elections and bought up a ton of XM193 for $330/1000, also got my assortment of 77 grain TAP and other stuff.

Glad I did.

It was in store. They sent out "employee pricing" mailers. On sale for $10.99 currently.

I did not realize your purchase was from their retail store. I thought you were referring to on-line purchase.

Is it any better if a gun show commando buys them cheap and sells them at an inflated price at a show?

In some areas LGS's buy all the ammo at the big 'Marts and resell it at a higher price. That would be the first way to lose my business.

I have had some luck at big box stores in liberal college towns finding ammo. Someone at one store asked me why I bought a bunch of .223 fmj, as it wasn't much good for hunting.

I told him it did not tear up coyote pelts.

I wouldn't buy anything from CTD. They showed their true belief in the 2nd amendment on how quickly they bailed. I hope it bankrupts them.

Never bought anything from them and never will.
Traitors to the 2nd Amendment and gougers at that. Plenty of other businesses.

CTD cancelled my mag order I put in on the 16th. The mags I bought and paid for $13.93 were also available for 29.99 after they said they could not fill my order. If that's free market capitalism I went to the wrong business school.

CTD has always led the price-gouging train. I have boycotted them since the 2008 panic. Time for everyone else to get on board. There are plenty of good companies that have held the line- Natchez, Brownells, and Freedom Munitions to name a few. Buy from them instead.

I just ordered Magpul .308 20's from Brownells, they are backordered, but I got a note from Brownells that they would fill the order as soon as more mags arrived, for the $18.99 price, wouldn't charge the card until the mags shipped, and won't be raising prices in the future unless their costs from the manufacturer go up.

A couple comments:
1. I hate price gougers. Sure it is legal, but it is screwing your customers. Not all stores are doing this.
2. Frankly, now is not the time to buy. Sure, if you're out of ammo buy some. But prices will go down. After Congress fails to do anything, and Biden makes some token move, things should return to normal, hopefully by march.

Cheers,

I stopped buying from CTD in the late 90's after finding most of their stuff to be crap and their prices and shipping to be very non-competitive.

I agree, CTD generally sells a bunch of overpriced junk and that's during the good times. Now I agree that CTD can place any price they want on their products as long as they have a sucker to pay it. That's the beauty of a free-market system. However, comma, pause for effect, a free market system is also a 2-edged sword. I am also free to choose who I buy from and what I am willing to pay. I am not willing to pay those outragous prices, I learned better back during the Klinton/Whore days, and stocked up on all the magazines I'm going to need. I am also free to decide weather or not I choose to spend any money on their products during a future time. Unfortunately for CTD, I have a pretty decent memory and yeah, it may be petty but I DO hold a freakin' grudge for a long, long, long time!!!:steamed:

Has anyone calculated the number of jobs that will be lost if a "Manufacturing ban"goes into place?
Not only manufacturing, but supply shops, dealers, small gun shops, ranges, etc...

I agree with this, Washington really needs to think about it, just how many jobs could be lost over some new bans.

Hey, it's a perfect play for their agenda. Create more welfare recipients to be dependent on the government and build the base for the Dems.

There were people paying 2500 for 400 ak in 08. There's someone who will pay 1000 for some ammo and 100 for a colt "gently used" mag at CTD. They way I see it - buy stuff if it's priced right. Don't buy it when it's like this. Just because someone is asking for it, doesn't mean they're getting it. But if some idiot will pay me 4 times the price for something that I have I will sell it to him.
