I'm looking for a custom Holster

I finally got my 7.5" Colt .45, Single Action Army. It only took a year and a half...

They must have waited for an elephant to die, so they could make the ivory grips..

It might have been the customized Serial Number I asked for..

Or perhaps it was the gaudy nickle plating??!!


I'll post pics after I find the right holster.. and that's where this braintrust comes in..

I need your help.


I realize this is a mostly Glock forum.. but most of you guys have other toys and I respect your opinions.. so here goes:

Have any of you had a custom holster made, and if so, by whom??

And recommendations are welcome, and any bad experiences are even more welcome.

I'm looking for a black leather (cowhide / horsehide??) rig.

One that resembles the Paladin Holster (http://www.moviesunlimited.com/musite/view_image.asp?image=D67512.jpg) that Richard Boone wore.

I've looked on-line at numerous reproductions, but they don't really show enogh detail for me to see what I'm looking for.

For example, the thickness of the leather, the edging, the quality of the buckle (I'd like nickel plated brass). I'd also like the Chess figure to be nickel plated brass, rather than silver (I just don't like too many different materials and finishes so close together.. they should all be the same, in my opinion).

Anyway, I'm hoping someone out there has had some Custom leatherwork done.

Forgot to add, there is a holster maker that makes an exact reproduction of the Paladin
Rig If I can dig out the information on it I'll get it too you.

Beat me to it. Been there, most impressive. May be pricey, but if it can be made from leather, they can do it and make it look great.

If you can't get a great holster in El Paso, where else would you look?
