I am currently in the market for a new gun cleaning box and have my sights on a few:

Option 1: MTM Shooting Range Box: Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@

Option 2: Plano Shooters Case With Gun Rests (X-Large): Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@

I'm leaning towards option 1, but opinions would be much appreciated! I have $25 credit with Amazon, so it's got to come from Thank you!

I just use a plain plano tackle box

I use one of these that I keep in my work shed, (filled with gun cleaning supplies). Akro-Mils 09185 BLUE Plastic Tote Caddy, 14-Inch by 18-Inch by 9-Inch, Blue: Home Improvement@@AMEPARAM@@

Otherwise I just use a plastic tool box with a removable top tray when I need someting to take to the range.

Yep. I have a Plano tackle box that I got at walmart for $9. It holds everything I my need to clean a gun. I also have a long gun stand that I built out of plywood. Works great.

I have so many tackleboxes, I have never considered a "gun cleaning" box.

I am filling a second tacklebox with gun parts and supplies today as a matter of fact.

You have to make sure it's 'tactical'.

Another Plano tackle box user here. They also work great for storing a knife collection.

I used to have the cleaning supplies all laid out in a tackle box type Plano.

I found it easier to just use the Ziploc semi-disposable tupperware type tubs for most of my cleaning and reloading storage needs. They nest together, even if filled halfway, so there are stack of them on my garage shelves.

Now I just grab the tray with what I need instead of a heavy duty travel box with everything in it.

I went with option #1. I teach NRA classes, so I'd love to have some organization to the whole thing. Plus, the rifle stand is an added bonus.
