Prescription drugs help to ease the pain and give extended life to millions, however, even though it is illegal to do so, many criminals find ways to procure and abuse these drugs.

Following the logic of the gun grabbers these medications should be banned and outlawed. It doesn't matter to them that the effect would stop the law abiding from having the life-saving medication they need.

What do you think, worth adding to the repertoire?

Prescription drugs are only available after someone determines you have an absolute need for them.

Then you go to a controlled and regulated dispenser with your permission slip and are given a controlled amount of the medication. You cannot receive more without permission.

Often you are required to be examined to determine if you actually need more.

See why I say nope?

Watching Santa Claus is Comin to Town cartoon from 1970 this year made me laugh. Burgermeister Meisterburger "Banned" toys, Actually had toy confiscation, a school teacher in the cartoon being a typical liberal initially was in favor of the ban, till Kris Kringle dressed in his Santa (tactical) gear slowly made her see how ridiculous her viewpoint was. Santa was made an outlaw.

You could replace Burgermriester Meisterburger with Fein(Franken)stein, And replace the toy ban with a gun ban and you have the same thing. I laughed through the entire show.

Yeah 5-5, not a direct corelation, it's just that it makes no sense either. Many lefties I know are often about how they feel, oh they feel the injustice of disparities in life courses and successes and failures. Their judgement so often based on the heart and not the brain.

I guess that's where I was going with it, an argument on their level so to speak. You wouldn't deny this sick person their meds because some law-breaker is abusing them would you? :violin:

What ever works.

I tell them if they really cared about other peoples kids they would outlaw bikes, skateboards and cars. But they don't really care they just want to feel good about themselves.

Pedophiles and internet kiddie porn--pedo get's all charged up, rapes a child, let's ban the internet. That's my quicky- also throw in cameras too-need to limit the amount of film someones buys- need to do away with digital equipment because pedo's no longer have to go the kiosk to get their porn film processed. Need to government regulate all that photography stuff to keep down the pedo's from getting all excited and raping and killing their victims. Not a great argument, but as good as theirs.

When someone says -

No constitutional right is unlimited - then they go on to say.

Even the first amendment has limits - You can't yell FIRE in a theater.

I like to say --

But the solution to someone yelling fire in a theater is to arrest the person that is yelling FIRE - not punish everyone by closing down all theaters.

I always get the - that is not the same thing - but I think it is.
