You know the more I watch his videos, the more I like him. Here's his 2 cents on the recent gun control debate madness. He brings up some very good points. Also, just found out he is a teacher:cool:.

I have been watching him since the early days. In fact a lot of my gun purchases have been off of what he has (S&W 629 P&R, Glock 19 and 27, Colt 1911 100 Yr, and I'm in the market for a 45-70 guide gun). I always listen to his radio shows and try and watch every video he puts out, but defiantly the ones I am interested in.

Anti-gun folks see tragic events as cause to limit access to firearms. Pro-gun people are horrified at the notion of limiting access for ANY reasons. Media is not able to provide reasoned discourse, nor will the chasm between pro and anti-gun sectors budge. What I took away from Hickok 45 and agree with is that the horror at Newtown, CT is not a gun issue, but an insanity issue.
Real discourse needs to occur about how to limit firearms from people who through mental defect have no business having firearms.
As a mental health professional, I can affirm that the public mental health system in the USA is broken. Chronic mentally ill folks are among us, don't have the supports they need to function well in our society, and often end up in jail or prison because there are no real alternatives out there. Free will also plays a part in that some mentally ill people refuse treatments. Anasgnosia is the term to describe the condition of complete denial that the person HAS a mental illness. The sick mind often cannot perceive it IS sick. The paranoid, psychotic, sociopath and unstable neurotics should not have access to firearms. How to effect that is a problem. The discussion should be focused on that, not outlawing hi-cap mags, AR-15's etc. The NRA fumbled when LaPierre could not redirect the argument to these conditions I speak of, and lamely just endorsed armed guards in schools.
I do not want to live in a society surrounded by armed guards when the culprits of mindless violence can and should be controlled for public safety.

I enjoy his video.

I met him at the 2012 NRA convention and he was just as nice and as personable as in his videos. His son was with him, who is also the cammera man. Both Hickok45 and his son are huge men. I'm guessing 6'7" or taller.

He's a member here, sometimes you'll see him posting. He seems like a good guy with huge amount of firearms knowledge. Can't say I've watched all the videos but I've watched a bunch and enjoyed them. I know I would like to shoot as well as he does.

If his videos are accurate...good guy! Kinda like myself!

He posts on here from time to time. I wish I lived in his area, I'd love to have my kids in his classroom. I'd be willing to bet he is a great teacher and would make the subject he teaches a lot of fun.

I was a bit confused toward the end. He seemed to first indicate that limiting things to save a few lives was not the solution, but then does a 180 and says that if it would for sure save lives he would be for it. Even in the example of speed limits he said it would save lives, but the implication was that it was not the right thing to do and that limiting firearms was worse because of freedom issues. Maybe I just missed something?

That's not even a contest. Hickok can crush a man's scull like a grape...

I heard that one day while out in the woods on the compound, hunting for zombie pumpkins, Hickok was bit by a rattlesnake. After 3 agonizing days... The rattlesnake finally died.

Cousins, twice removed. They both have the same mutated gene that gives them superhuman powers, however.

Chuck got the martial arts gene abnormality, while Hickok inherited the firearm's proficiency mutation.
