Every Saturday night, me and a bunch of friends get online and play L4D2 from 2200 till about 0200. Great game with dozens of possible scenarios. Anyway, beats going to the bars.:rofl:Daughter just got an Xbox360 w/ the connect system and the family has been busy knocking over lamps and furniture in the living room...

Other than the plethora of war games, is there a video game you play that you enjoy that's worth the price?:wavey:

Thanks!

I mostly play Tiger Woods '12: The Masters on PS3 w/Move controller. I just bought Killzone3, and have the first Little Big Planet that the wife & I play together when we can find the time. I don't have a ton of time to play video games anymore.

The only video game I ever bought for the computer was "Redneck Rampage"....way too funny looking for the moon-pies, beer and crowbars.

Good background music too!!

i enjoy the lego games series. they're simple, fun, entertaining, and i can play them with my younger neices and nephews without wanting to pop my eyes out with a spoon after 5 minutes.

so far i've gone through the star wars series, the dc super hero series, harry potter, pirates of the caribean, indiana jones, and i'm currently working through the lord of the rings installment. i have to admit though that i thought they were much funnier before they started doing voice overs and gave them actual speech.

Online I have a group of buddies I game with and currently play CoD: Black Ops 2.

Offline, I wander the lands of Skyrim: The Elder Scrolls V. (IMHO) the greatest game ever made. And with the release of the latest DLC, Dragonborn, I'm going to spend even more countless hours laying waste to all the poor NPCs that get in my way!

I still play Battlefield series off and on: Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, and sometimes Battlefield 3.

Last week I started playing Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction again. Forget how old it is, it's still the best game ever for PC.

This will only make sense to D2 fans: So I'm playing a bowazon for fun. Not a magic find character, not twinked, just basic fun. I'm getting my butt kicked by the Ancients in Hell Act 5 so decide I'll use the 2 MF items I have - total MF 52% - and hit Pindle to level up. 10th run and he drops a Buriza-do Kyanon. Holy Christ on a bicycle!! A freakin' burrito cannon!! When the game came out, I must have done thousands of Pindle/Baal runs hoping to get that and never did. It's a Christmas miracle. I may or may not have spent the entire night grinding Pindle and now have a ridiculously over-powered bowazon.

I don't get to often, but I do try to play Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas on the PS3 whenever I get a chance.

Skyrim is incredible and Fallout 3 is one of the most entertaining games ever. And thanks to the Fallout series, I'd like to think that I'm much better prepared for surviving post-apocolyptic dystopia than most. ;)

Tetris. I still have my Nintendo and a collection of games but it is by far my favorite.

For the XBOX
Forza whateveristhenewversion (husband's current favorite)
Angry Birds
Plants vs Zombies
Pinball FX Plants vs Zombies table
and about 20 other games get rotated

On my Kindle Fire Mahjong in some variant, currently Barnyard with animals and produce instead of Kanji and grasses/lotus flowers. It is the perfect size screen for it.

On my iPhone it's Bejeweled

On the iPad it's snooker, Bridges, UnBlock Me and variants of it, and other puzzles.

My taste runs toward simple and puzzles. I don't have the patience for something that you have to build and build on a storyline with.

Does Words with Friends count? I play it a lot at work with another girl who works there. We both keep playing on our alternate days off so that the other still has something to help pass the time. We have unrestricted internet access and a lot of the people in the office find it hilarious that we are playing Scrabble by Facebook (her) and by phone (me) sitting in adjoining cubes.

I've been playing Battlezone for PC a lot lately. I bought and played the hell out of this game when it first came out in 1998. The graphics were years ahead if its time, and still look great to this day.

You can download and play the game for free. There are still guys who play strategy and/or deathmatch games against each other online all the time.

Here's info on the game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlezone_(1998_video_game)

And here's the supported site where you can download and play: http://www.battlezone1.com/

Wow! I never figured I'd run into another BZ player. Battlezone 1998 is one of the best computer games I've ever played, combination of real time strategy and first person shooter. With a very cool plot line. I don't play online much, but my son does a lot.

My computer uses Vista. Unfortunately all of the favorite games I used to play will not work with that OS. In fact, every time MicroSoft comes out with a new OS, I've lost more and more until I can't play any of them with the exception of CoD4.

My past favorites were:

The entire Wing Commander series
Star Wars: X-Wing and Tie Fighter
M1 Abrams Tank

Had several WW2 fighter games that also went by the wayside.

I play a team-based game called Defense of the Ancients 2 (Dota 2). My friends (whom I've known since elementary) and I played the first iteration of the game back in middle school through high school. Needless to say, we were pretty stoked when they announced Dota 2. That and Battlefield 3 are the games that we play together.

World of Tanks right now. I used to love playing the Delta Force games. I pissed so many people off with my skills on a sniper rifle, laying out 600-800 meters with them unable to get the bullet drop figured out was a lot of fun.

Wing Commander?! The movie version? This was an EPIC game too! It had Sting, Mark Hammil, John Rys-Davis, etc. in it. Played that for months. The space flight and controls were state-of-the-art at the time. Nothing like the end when Hobbs turned out to be the traitor! Opps! SPoiler Alert!

Speaking of limitations......

We can't put the 10mm in a PS3 game. Even the PS3 has it's limitations....:whistling:

Besides, it wouldn't be any fun. One shot and the game would be over.

Yeb, spent a decent amount of time playing Lego Star Wars 2 when it came out.

Now I'm working through the original Final Fantasy - 1984 (NES).

Alan Wake (360)

Assasins Creed 3 (360)

Resident Evil 2 Dualshock Edition- 1998. (PS1)

I'm doing all of this of course after looking for a second job everyday, so there's always less time to play video games. No problem with that whatsoever. Video Games will rot your imagination sometimes anyway. :wavey:

I've been D2:LoD clean for about a decade now. I had a level 90+ of every character (yes, even the assassin and necro), and duplicates of zons and sorcs. My favorite was a paladin with maxed zeal and a TON of life/mana leech gear. As long as I could keep clicking I'd leech enough life that I couldn't be killed.

I commend you on your find, and I hate you a little for mentioning that game. Congrats, you SOB. :)

As for current games that are worth the money:
Assassin's Creed and AC 2 can be had for about $10 now and are still better than any games released now. They're only a couple years old. The next two in the series, AC:Revelations and AC:Brotherhood are about $20 and even better than the first two. I'm on the most recent - AC 3, and it is by far the best of all. $60 for the game, but with at least 15 hours in on the single player, I am not even a quarter of the way done. I am a completionist, though, and these games have tons of side objectives.

Don't forget Battlefield 2. I was (I guess still am) a big Battlefield 2 player. MUCH larger maps than BF3, larger and real squads (squad leaders are actually important), Commander can be an important roll depending on the player, more soldier types, more vehicles. BF3 is much more "close quarters", BF2 is larger and more open. Also, BF2 is really an online PC multiplayer game, its "campaign" is really just practice for multiplayer.

I love that you can play the game 3 different ways with almost endless options for missions and things! Plus if you really want to get deep in the game (New Vegas) you can create custom loads for your guns with different powders and bullets. Basically reloading in a game. Lol.

I like the the big maps along with the small ones in bf3. Bf2 had more open maps, but the size of the ones on the dlc for bf3 are truly staggering. Alborz mountain is the biggest battlefield map ever created. It takes forever to drive from one side to the other. Even on a quad bike.

I think Bandar Desert is bigger, the rush map is outright massive on that one. I still like the aftermath pack better though.

My son who is stationed at McDill AFB in Tampa Bay and I (in Texas) played BF3 a couple of times this week. Not seeing him (he is 18 and been out of the house for 6 months) it's pretty damn cool to be able to get online and play with him. Those who talk badly about video games don'y really understand some of their benefits IMO.

I use xbox live to keep in touch with old army buddies. We catch up on life, talk a little sh@# to each other, and generally stay in touch. I completely understand.

Aftermath is everything close quaters wishes it could have been. The maps are big but they can feel really small. The xbow is simply a novelty but the "post catastrophic earthquake" character models are pretty cool. I'd put it on par with the back to karkand pack but with better cq fighting. Its a really good blend where just vehicles or just infantry can't run a map by themselves.

This. Although I like playing sdm on close quarters. I like Aftermath much better. I have been using the knife glitch the last couple of weeks on epicenter with devastating effect.
