He's a little, non-Braveheart, baby!

They already showed all three in a row. I'm on the second round now.

How much you wanna' bet that the bad guys lose?

He's never made a movie that can top the original Mad Max. The sequels are a big step down each time.

I like them all, very much.

(The first one is kind of lame, in a Billy Jack kind of way.)

Road Warrior is the best.

My mutt is just as crazy, in the right situation.

She just doesn't look so cool.

One thing I was never able to figure out was if society had completely broken down and lawlesness reigned, why did the bad guys still wear motorcycle helmets? HH

How many people in Australia played hockey, before the breakdown of society, that all the dregs would find them in surplus and wear them, in their debauchery, whilst blasting all through the badlands?

Nonsense. Mad max II the road warrior is the undisputed king of the heap. The best of them all. The first was just background.

CCM predicted against the late future.

And, therefore, it's predicted that the future might need protection against hip-checks and boardings and late hits that the linesmen don't see...

Australia won't win. My bet is on the Canada guys.

They don't have Sand Blasters.

They have Snow Machines.

We don't know.

But, them Aussie guys all turn into drips when it gets cold.

I saw Mad Max at a drive in theater with my wife when it first came out. When it was released in the US all the voices in it were dubbed with American actors. I suppose it was to hide that it was a "foreign" movie or maybe because they thought Americans couldn't understand the Aussie accent.

Road Warrior was my fav growing up. I guess it hit the sweet spot for my age.

Thunderdome was the most hyped. I remember the week it came out they had Mel and Tina on The Today Show or something. I found that a bit bizarre.

I saw the original on VHS in 84 or 85. Not a huge fan. The ending is great. Watching his wife and kid die is AWFUL. But what got me is the beauty and lawlessness that coexisted. I can't imagine that anyone would look for and find beauty in that lawless of a world. I assume it was the intent, but it was surreal.

That, and there were all these businesses around and about 8 people in the whole film - who the heck bought anything and kept the stores open????

Didn't care for it. I consider Road Warrior a distant second to Mad Max. I'd even rather watch Lethal Weapon or Braveheart than Road Warrior.

It's like saying Billy Jack is better than The Born Losers, as somebody above reminded me with a ridiculous comment.

There is a new mad max movie coming out sometime this year or next. Tom Hardy is taking over the role of Mad Max.

Films usually have the bad guys wear some kind of mask to hide the face. It's to dehumanize the targets for the audience so that the killing is not so much like killing people.

Notice that the heroes always take off their hats/helmets? It is so their face gets on the screen. It is so the actor can emote on screen to the audience. I get annoyed when I see this in period films or when actors portray military personnel in uniform and they don't have the appropriate hat or helmet.

Fury Road...

But it has been "in the works" for years. On and off. It seems though on-location has wrapped up. But it is over budget.

But here is the new mad max

Now see I liked Road Warrior the best.

But that said, I was much much too young to see Mad Max so RW on VHS is the first one I saw. Mad Max, was "backstory" to me.

But I like them both. Thunderdome is the only one I dont have.

What was interesting about Mad Max was that we got to see society going into meltdown. The police station was shabby, obviously no budget for building maintenance, and morale so down that police officers were leaving the force. When they arrest a criminal, the usual sort of liberal lawyers were there to spring them out of jail. This when criminal elements were starting to take over the streets and towns.

Of the three movies, Road Warrior is my favorite. The bad guy Wez, with the mohawk was one psycho dude for sure, and "The Humongous" was a hoot. Great cars and trucks and enough funny stuff (in a twisted way) to take the edge off the movie. It's one of the few movies I can watch more than once and still enjoy it.

In Mad Max, it was your basic 3/4 street helmet. It looked like the BGs were more concerned about safety than stampeding women and children and raping cattle. HH
