Journal News hires armed guards after getting "negative correspondence" for the article they published.

 So its OK for them to hire armed guards to protect themselves from law abiding citizens. When they are the ones doing something dangerous. I bet that don't even realize how hypocritical it is for them hiring armed guards.

What would be best is if the armed guards were on the list and didn't lift a finger to help the newsies if something goes south.

Hypocrites are hypocrites no matter if they run a newspaper, act in Hollywood or hold government office in Washington.

It's Ok for these people to have armed guards protecting them but it's not OK for a common citizen to protect themselves.

I despise hypocrites.

The problem I have with this is more than likely the names/addresses of the guards were published by the paper (The paper published professional licenses as well). I wish the paper would have had a harder time finding a company to take the job.

It's theatrics. They are implying that gun owners are coming after them, they are trying to make a (false) point to prove a (false) point.

This is probably it. Garner sympathy from the sheep.
