I was reading this article
http://news.yahoo.com/winners-losers-fiscal-cliff-deal-231507391--politics.html
In the comments section. a comment by 'Nighthawk' @ 7:45 PST, chronicles a congressional solution, offered by Warren Buffett.

"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just
pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more
than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible
for re-election.

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds)took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple!
The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail,
cell phones, etc. (comment continues)

Could this be done and can we pull it off?

Anything can happen, if The People demand it, and it doesn't infringe on any natural rights or standing Amendments.

BUT, considering over 50% of the population is in the pockets of the federal Gov't whether it be social or corporate welfare...I doubt those people would go along with anything that could possibly in some way hurt their cash cows.
