I have a pelican 7060 for nightstand duty, along with my edc novatac 120p for the more mundane tasks.
I have a Fenix LD20. I use rechargeable energizers in it.

Same, but eneloops.
Check out Olight, FEnix, nightcore, sunwaman, zebralights, streamlight...
It all comes down to personal preference. My current favorite is the Sunwayman V11r.

I use my streamlight m-3x and then have the option if I want to put it on my handgun.

Same here, it sits in the charger. Panic room has another, and my pants are always near the bed with wallet, knife, O-light and possibly gun (depending on if kids are in the house) in holster.

I use a older Surefire 6Z with Malkoff P61 drop-in. Very bright and very reliable.

no matter what you choose to buy, be sure to read up on the CR123 warning and fires related to the use of 2 CR123's in a flashlight.

I have to admit I use a single AAA LED flashlight I wear more then anything.
Plenty of light for close to +20' I must use it half dozen times a day. A bright light is great. You can blind a suspected intruder, check out yard....
Then again for me I hear "noise at 2am" I turn on light/slide on jeans/grab gun/cell and my vision is not ruined. (nor is entire house lit up) I have a 6p type light ASP.
Olight M20SX and another Fenix next to the bed. Both AR's have a Surfire G2 with BOG LED emitters in them.
I also have a Jetbeam BC40, but that is way too bright for use indoors.
Any of the quality brands. .
just pick the one with the UI, features and lumens you like.

An HDS Systems EDC120.
With 4 programmable light levels it does anything I need a light to do.

Actually my best LED flashlight is in my golf bag for when I golf at night in our winter league. The course is lighted, sorta, but it comes in handy on the three par-4's. Not sure what it is off the top of my head but it uses two rechargable lithium batteries and 123A batteries and is very compact and quite bright.
(not much of a thread contribution but hey, night golf! :D )
I have a Streamlight TLR-1 on my Glock 21 in my bedroom. Nice flashlight, that.
Surefire PX Fury single output - 500 lumens of super bright white light and it has a nice hot spot and good spill. Also a rugged light. Always could go with a weapon mounted light but then you would be pointing a weapon at potential family members getting a midnight snack.
Surefire or streamlight. Pick one that is comfortable for you. Surefire 6PX tactical is a nice choice.

Fenix TK35. The new 860 lumen model. Any body shows up around here, he or she gets illuminated immediately. Right after the g30 is grabbed with the other hand.

I'll save you some time...
Go on Amazon. Buy every flashlight you can find. Send back the one, or two, you don't want.

I really like the LINK Carabiner (http://www.dealsergeant.com/icon-link-carabiner-flashlight-black.html?gclid=CMur4-SK0LQCFehDMgod_FUA8w) for all-round use for walking, nightstand, or hiking.
(Powered by one AA alkaline battery)
If I think the LINK isn't going to be enough I carry the Surefire G-3.

I've got 4 Novatacs in my collection. They aren't my favorite out of the box, but AWESOME with a XM-L upgrade and the 250 click hack (http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?213286-NovaTac-EDC-T-and-E-Models-CRACKED!-Back-Door-Easter-egg-found!)!
