View Full Version : How are we doing?
Any Gen Glock 40! My old Gen 2 G23 is still a favorite. Still want a Gen 4 G23, but they sell quick around here.
The .40 is my favorite! The Gen4 G23 is amazing, it's worth the wait to get one, although I know waiting is the hard part. I loaded up some 135gr JHP loads for the G23 with good results. Almost 1500 fps using 800x.
I've been messing around more with the Gen4 G35 and it's great, working on warm loads as well as gamer loads, and I'm not disappointed. I've worked up a load that shoots a 180gr JHP @ over 1350 fps from the 6" G24 KKM bbl, which is awesome.
I have a sweet load cooked up with VV 3N38, shooting a 200gr WFNGC at 1200 fps with single digit extreme spreads. I've even got some 230gr .40 hardcasts to 1100 fps.
That's what's going on here, just playing around with my favorite Glock caliber. Switch a barrel and I'm shooting 9mm or 357 Sig, or load em warm, the .40 pretty much covers it all.
While I prefer my G27 for EDC, I do like my G23 Gen4.
Picked up a Gen4 G23 last summer. I had heard that the new RSA&grip does a better job of mitigating felt recoil.
I owned a gen2 G23 and it was a beast to shoot, kind of soured me on 40s for years, but this latest one thus far has been a very nice little weapon. Mostly putting Blazer 165gr loads thru her and some CorBon 135gr missiles for good measure.
My verdict is that she is a keeper.
The Corbon 135gr seems like a good load. I've had some Corbon in the past, just never the 135gr version. Usually people associate the 135gr to poor penetration, but I've read of the 135gr .40 Corbon load used to take a 180lb 8pt buck and it dropped on the spot, and the bullet almost passed completely through.
I have a glock 23 about to pick up a glock 27 for edc
The new sub-compact is my fav, although I have been familiarizing myself with the G38.
27 is on my nightstand ready to go!
I just got a 23gen4 and I love it 500 rounds and not one issues.
I have a gen 3 g24 and love it. Great match to the 17L just has a bit more grunt to it.
