I've been reading many things about these 2 holster. I plan to carry my new model 27 gen 4 with it. I'm a bigger size guy.....any recommendations? Thanks.

I have carried an MTAC for 4 years and couldn't be happier. I have tried others, Crossbreed included, and none are as comfortable as the MTAC. In my experience, the MTAC uses better quality leather and has no exposed metal on the back. I currently have 3 MTACs and highly recommend them.

You may want to do some searching around here:

It is the "Carry Issues" area of GT, the ideal place for your question.

Crossbreed and MTAC. That was my short list, too. I went with the MTAC because... heck, I don't remember why. (At my age, the memory is the second thing to go.)

Anyway, I don't see how you could go wrong with either one.

I love the crossbreed. I use it for the compact G23 size.
For the G27 in appendix carry I love the remora holster the most.

I have a Crossbreed carrying a Walther PPS, and the comfort is complete. Haven't tried the MTAC, but after some comments I've heard, I may try one for some of my other guns.

+1 MTAC. Had both. MTAC is more stable imho.

I currently have them both. Either one will serve you well. My Crossbreed is a little squeaky for some reason, but it is easier to reholster my weapon with the Crossbreed. I concur that the MTac is just a little more comfortable for a full day's carry.

Off topic a little, but I find myself going to a PJHolsters' kydex holster more than the other two combined.

I have a couple of holsters, magazine holders, and belts from mtac. I have no complaints.

Take a look at Comfort Tuk http://comfort-tuk.com/

I have one and it fits my G23 and G22 great. Very comfortable, even while in the car. Never thought it would be that easy to conceal a G22, but it is.

IV had a mtac before and really liked it. I replaced it with a ctac and found that one even better. Although I did miss the ability to have one holster to hold multiple guns. Never tried a crossbreed but I hear good things.

Check into White Hat. Their Maxtuck looks very similar to the crossbreed.

http://www.whitehatholsters.com/MaxTuck-IWB-Hybrid-Holster-Natural-Horsehide-p/natural-tan-horse.htm. You can get the horsehide with combat cut for 69.95

http://crossbreedholsters.com/SuperTuckDeluxe/tabid/90/List/0/ProductID/1/CategoryID/1/Level/1/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName,ProductName. The same exact set up would be 92.25 from Crossbreed. Even if you didn't want combat cut if you went with horsehide your still paying 84.75. Their shipping times are also longer

CBST and MTAC are good products but it's obvious the MTAC is superior..

I have no experience with the MTAC. I do have a Crossbreed Supertuck and find it to be the best IWB holster I've owned.

LOL! Short and sweet.

FWIW, I have an MTAC. But... what is it about the Crossbreed you don't like? I've only heard good things?

The MTAC's leather is much much thicker. Also the belt loops on the Crossbreed draw way to much attention with the crosses. I bought and MTAC and a buddy bought the crossbreed, buddy wasn't happy when he saw the difference. They are a little more expensive but your getting your monies worth.

Interesting. As I had said, I've only heard good things about both. Is the back of the CB lined? That's one thing I like about my MTAC -- no rough leather or fastener hardware against the body.

I am really happy with my MTAC for my Glock 19.

No, the CBST is rough with exposed hardware. It is more comparable to the Comp-Tac Spartan.

I'm curious as to the comparison in hot weather. Here is Cental PA the humidity is killer! I would like to be comfortable but also protect from sweat! yes yes I want it all in one holser.
