Which single stack 9mm do you want the most...

XDs9 - or - G26s

Don't be a dick and say "both".

I would like a Glock 26 single stack.

Since the G26 is a double stack it limits the answer.

I think we're playing "make believe".

Love my Shield 9mm and promised myself I won't chase the XDs or a single stack offering from Glock, time will tell but I sure like the feel of my friends XDs 45acp.

I second this, best ccw handgun under $250. Plus it's hard to find anything 9mm as light and slim.

pf9 owners, assemble!

I'd like to have an xds, but good luck finding one at a reasonable price.

I'd like a g26 as well, but it's a little redundant to what I already have. I'd buy one anyway if I had the extra coin.

Why are pocket guns the most fun?

I shot one last week, trigger pull seemed a mile long and recoil wasnt the most pleasant. I ran a mag through it, one mag was enough for me. I'd never buy one!

First gun I've ever shot that I was over after just one mag.

I already have the LC9 and I actually really like the trigger. I would love to have a 9mm XDs but if Glocks comes out with a single stack 9 (which I'm calling the G26s) I'd be torn choosing between the two...which is the reason for my topic. which would you choose, XDs or G26s?

26s would be a good designation for it. I love the 26.

It's not for fun at the range, or target shooting competitions. It's for being small and light enough to carry anywhere, and at that it beats out every other pistol on the market today.

Is Glock planning a single stack 9 or is it just wishful thinking?

I have both an XD-S and a Shield, and those are about as thin as I would go. The .45ACP XD-S is one of my favorite carry pistols, and I'm eagerly awaiting the announcement/release of the 9x19 model.

The Shield is OK, but I really don't know if I'll be holding onto mine too much longer. It's about the same size as the XD-S.

I'd recommend that you test fire both of them--the .45ACP in that little frame with the aggressive grip texturing is something to experience first-hand. The trigger is very Glock-like, and overall I'd give it an edge over the Shield. In comparison, the Shield is a very nice shooter, and makes for an excellent carry pistol.

If Glock would ever produce a single-stack G26, I would definitely add one to the collection. However, that has never been mentioned by Glock. SA has mentioned that the XD-S will be released at some time in 9X19 and .40S&W.

I have the CW9, Nano, and PPS. May eventually buy a Shield. I think the market has the single stack covered very well... But I would buy a 26s

Neither. That is if they ever do come out with either one. I already own a very fine single stack Kahr PM9. I've EDC it for a couple of years now, and it has never failed to function in any way.

. No Regrets.

I've tried others, not too much as there are more options today, but I've always stuck with my baby Glock. It be a 40, but I've also got a 9mm conversion barrel and 10 rd to 33rd mags for it. It has always worked. ALWAYS. And that is a comforting thought.

I've been eyeballing the PPS 9mm for a good while. Now with the shield out I'm just waiting to see the XDs in 9mm to take my pick.

I think they fill a narrow niche between pocket gun like the PM9 and small double stacks. To me any of the above would be used as a slim IWB option. Plus I just enjoy shooting smaller pistols a lot.

I'm not going to hold my breath for a Glock single stack 9mm but if this is imagination land and the choice was between a Glock or XDs 9mm I would likely go Glock.

Great gun for the money!

As for the G26....

I have a G27 (.40S&W) with a 9mm conversion barrel and a bunch of G26 mags. It works flawlessly!

I have a Shield and my friend has an XDS. They are virtually the same size. The XDS is a Glock w/ a grip safety and different sights.

I will likely be buying an XDS 9 as well. Very nice pistol.

XDs9 - or - G26s

Don't be a dick and say "both".

Uh, okay, how about neither?

The XD is blocky enough, and I have a hard time seeing how Glock would be able (and/or willing) to reduce the width of the subcompact enough to make it all that much slimmer than the G26.

Now, maybe if more states decide to follow NY state's lead and impose state restrictions on magazine capacity to something like 6, 7 or 8rds, then Glock might find it profitable to introduce a new slimline model. For the commercial/private owner market. Maybe. I'm not sure I'd hold my breath. (It might simply be easier for them to simply change the mag liner to reduce capacity of the 10-rd G26/27/33 size mags down to 6, 7 or 8-rds.)

Also, it's not like they have unused manufacturing capacity they need to find a use for, is it? They're selling all the subcompacts they can make, and without having to dabble in the single stack 9mm (or .40 ) market at the moment.

I'd expect Springfield to go for a really small 9s, since they're probably working to establish bigger commercial market share (probably not having nearly as large LE/Gov market share as the bigger names).

Dunno. No "inside" info. Just some thoughts of the top of my head.

I chose to go with a Walther PPS.

Good choice. Nicely engineered little pistol.

I wouldn't try to tinker with it or disassemble the frame, though. It's nothing like the 99 series, and is a bit complex from the armorer perspective. :whistling:

Here is a pic of my 938. I love this little gun. It's one of the best looking and most solidly built pocket pistols I've ever seen.

Yeah, I'm not that adventurous. Breaking it down for cleaning is as far as I go.

The XDs 9mm is based on the .45 frame so it could have been thinner, which would have been nice. I would love to have a single-stack Glock 9mm that is thinner than a G36.

The XDS 9mm is the exact same gun. its actually heavier.

I own the shield, and did own the XDS. while i loved everything about the XDS, the .45 in a package that small for me , was overwhelming with my defensive loading. HST 230gr +P

so i got the shield after that , and i do love it. the only thing i hate about it , is the safety . trigger pull is nice and lighter than my previously owned xds, thanks to my gunsmith. one thing i wish they would have improved on were the slide serrations. i find the xds has better slide serrations.

needless to say i will be buying the XDS 9mm version when it comes out to compare.

I have a Springfield XDs 45 ACP and a Glock 27, which are the same size as your example.

I can pocket carry the XDs easily but the Glock is too thick and looks like I have a thick paperback novel in my pocket.

For IWB carry, I go with the Glock since it conceals well and carries more ammo.

Glock 26 single stack. No question. I already have a Kahr PM9 and I love it, but I still prefer my G26! If Glock made a single stack G26, I'd buy two!

If I want a single stack I'll take a G36 or my 1911. I can't imagine Glock engineering a single stack 9 that was truly slim.

I've got the slim 9 thing covered. What I'm wanting now is a G26, regular. Some days you need slim, some days you could conceal a howitzer.
