I got a new M&P Shield. I wonder if it will play well with my Glocks?

I've given up on getting one unless I'm willing to pay MSRP. It's not like I need one. My PF-9 as taken a beating and has had well over 10k round through it with only one slide crack. With a steady diet on +P+.

Come on biblical deal! I need my own Shield! :)

I'm embarrassed to say what my gun shop charged me. An honest bunch that cares about there customers. I've bought four guns from them in the last two years but today they sealed the deal. I'm their customer for life. They charged me 389.00

The business is THE GUN SHOP in Idaho Falls, ID If you're in Idaho I'd recommend stopping in.

Yes they do. :) My M&P Shield gets along quite well with my new Glock 19. The Shield is a great CCW pistola and very accurate. Be sure to clean it real well before shooting it. It usually comes heavily soaked in storage/shipping oil.

I could never find one.....so I bought a 26.

I had a 26 before the Shield was introduced. Still do. Wouldn't let it go for any price. But if everything settles down in a few months, and that's a BIG if, I'll be looking for a Shield to add to my safe. I think they got that one right. I can see it being an excellent addition to my line-up.

I bought one for $400+tax awhile back and ended up selling it to a co-worker. It wasn't a bad gun, but the grip is long, which made it conceal no better, or worse than my g26. Ended up with a CM9, which is going to be extremely easy to conceal.

I guarantee it wont work as well or be as reliable as the glock but it should get along with the others.

I got a Shield in 9mm a month ago, after waiting 5 months for it. I can guarantee that it will play well with others. It is a sweet little beast that they hit out of the park..Enjoy..

I am sure that after you shoot it you will like it even more.

I just bought a 9mm shield. I wish I would have gone with the G26 Gen 4 that I originally wanted to get.. but this was made available and I jumped on it because they are impossible to find down here in south Florida. Very impulsive I am. :( My wife ended up saying that she would rather have the G26, so now the Shield is up for sale. :( *sigh*

The M&Ps are nice guns. I have been contemplating a .357sig M&P but don't know if I will get one.

The Shield helps to fill a niche that Glock is not interested in. Can't blame you for buying one.

Cool gun. I'm still waiting for S/A's XDS 9mm.

Congrats. They should get along fine. I don't have a Shield but my M&P40c gets along well with my Glocks.

Cool gun. I'm still waiting for S/A's XDS 9mm.

I have the XDS in 45 ACP. (Single stack, 5 round mag, .9 inches thick). I'm waiting for it to warm up around here, so I can shoot it some more and decide what I think.

Some of the things I don't care for about the XDS (which will apply to the 9mm when it comes out):

1) the grip is too long - I can get half my little finger on it, which feels a little unstable. I wish it was a little shorter so I could comfortably curl my little finger underneath. It would conceal better if the grip were a little shorter. Its grip is about a 1/4 inch longer than a G26. Slide length about the same.

2) More complex than a Glock - more parts, harder to detail strip. Parts aren't as readily available as for Glock - at least I haven't found a place like lone wolf where I can get what I want in a couple days.

3) I can take or leave GAP floor plates when it comes to shooting the gun, but for drawing it from the holster they are great. The XDS doesn't have anything comparable.

I've looked everywhere for a Shield but can't find one. My LGS has told me to give em $50 payment and the next one that comes in is on hold for me.

I guess I might just end up getting a G27 Gen4 next.

I carry a Shield 40 now. It takes the place of my G27 as my CC gun. My safe has 2 M&Ps along with 4 Glocks. They compliment each other very well in my opinion.

Congrats on your Shield - Really fine pistola. They are hard to find after all the positive press they have received. Bought my Shield 9mm last May and really love it. Added an Apex DCAEK, TFO sights and Talon grips. It is my EDC now and plays just fine with my Glocks...
