Aside from the extended mag and slide release, I know the 34 has a 3.5# connector. But does it have a different trigger spring too, or is it the exact same part as the 17?
In other words, does anything but the 3.5# connector make the 34's trigger better?

Trigger springs are the same
The trigger pull on most G34's with the 4.5# connector run 4.5# to 5.0# and the G17 with the 5.5# connector runs 5.5# to 6.0#.
My 34 came with the same connector as my 17. It did have the extended slide stop though.

Blue Label Glocks are not shipped with the - connector unless ordered that way. Otherwise the G34/G35 should ship with the - connector.

Any big benefit to the 34? I'm in the market for a new glock and this is one I am considering. I have a 19 so I figured a 17 would be a huge difference. I'm also looking at the .45 line up

Longer sight radius, and depending on how it was ordered, you may also have these installed:
Glock adjustable rear sight
Extended slide stop
4.5lb "minus" connector
You mentioned that you're also looking at the .45 models, too. Well, Glock manufactures both .45ACP and .45GAP models. I think that you'll enjoy shooting any of those models.

Those were standard, on the 34, when I bought mine. The blue label was different.

The adjustable sight is a $27 option on a Glock.

Same here--my G34 was a red/pink label, and my G35 was a blue label and had fixed sights and a 5.5 connector.

It wern't, on my 34, 35 or 24, back, in the day, I reckon.

Maybe I should have stated modern Gen 3 Glocks.

Although I had not requested, my Blue Label Gen4 G34 shipped with minus connector, factory installed.
While a standard connector in Blue Label Gen3 models was commonplace, this may no longer be the case with new production Gen4 G34 models.
Doesn't hurt to ask your dealer if it's a feature you want.

Curious that there are blue label G34s. These are generally considered LEO guns right? Do many LEOs prefer the G34/5?

They are really just about the same size as a 1911. You're just used to seeing a shorter barrel, on the G17. I don't mind carrying one.

Blue Label Glock's are offered to certain individuals for a discount... Ex: police, EMT's, Firefighters, etc
Glock 34/35's are usually competition guns...
