I found a Green Mountain Fluted barrel for $127 shipped but it's 20". Is that overkill or will that be alright?

Features:
Length: 20 inches
Rifling: 1 in 16 twist
.920 outside diameter
Fluted

Or the 18" Keystone Arms 18"x.920 Blue Fluted Bull Barrel?

I have the GM fluted 20" on my 10/22-- great barrel. And that is a really good price! Go for it.

Can you post a pic of the rifle with it?

I have a very accurate 1022 with a stock barrel. Bought it on sale at Dick's for $169 in 2001, as a gift to myself when I retired from active duty.

My three other 1022 are only average, 2in or so at 50y. My special 1022 will do 1.25in at 100y, sub 3/4 at 50y consistently with CCI subsonic. I think it can do better, I just need to find the prefect ammo for it.

One of the 1022's (bought used a few years ago) came with a steel Green Mt barrel and a right handed over-mold stock, it was more accurate than a "normal" stock 1022, I just did not like the weight. I sold the barrel and stock (I am a lefty) and returned it to normal. (Now it is a pink shorty for my little girl)

For $127 I would try it and if you don't like it, you are sure to get your money back. Since it is Aluminum you may like the weight.

Get it, you won't be sorry. I have an 18" blued heavy barrel and believe a 20" wouldn't really be noticeable as for the looks of the gun, and might even balance a bit better.
You'll find many of us use the 10/22 to dispose of our extra cash.:wavey:

I am apparently incompetent when it comes to posting a picture; but trust me, the gun looks good with a 20" .920 fluted barrel in a Hogue Ghillie Green stock.

Not overkill. I have a 16" GM barrel and it is very accurate.
