I posted earlier about deciding between the Beretta PX4 Storm and the Glock 19. I just put a Glock 19c on layaway. How do you guys like them? I've never had a C model before. Is there anything I should know? Feel free to post pics of yours.

Some complaints I have heard is that the front sight gets dirty.
I don't think that is a huge issue more than inconvenience

Great choice. Disagree with the sights getting dirty comment, ill assume he's never shot one.

I wouldn't want to do one of those close retention shots with one. That's where you are holding the pistol close to your body when you shoot.

They shoot nice and front sights can get dirty a little faster but depends on what ammo you shoot. Really is a non issue but one thing I don't like is shooting it in the dark

The G19 is my favorite Glock, but I wouldn't have bought the "C" model.

It was the only one my LGS had. The other choices were a 17 or 34.

Congrats on your new firearm. I never bought into the "C" concept myself, but if you are happy, I am happy for you.

Enjoy it safely.

I shot my 32c for the first time last week at the range. I shot 5 13-round mags/65 rds. Because of the "gett'in dirty" comments I have seen here, at the GT forum, I did take a look afterwards at the front sight - - - that sucker looked white as snow, just like it did before I fed it 65 rounds.

So, I can at least report that 65 rounds of .357sig made no discoloration of the front sight! :)

I don't think I would worry about that, unless of course, you might decide to use some type of lower quality ammo that might cause the sight to get dirty??

Good luck with that 19c, when you get it!!

Sometimes during IDPA matches we shoot from retention. I get significant muzzle blast from my no c model 17. I can only imagine a c model. Nothing wrong with a c model, but i would get a non c barrel for it when not just range plinking or practice.

Why a 19C model?

No downside to the C model when firing from retention or for ccw, or at night. Only negative is price. That said, most shooters don't shoot at a level where they'd feel a difference with a C model, particularly in 9mm.

I missed the PX4 v glock discussion, but would have strongly recommended the glock. I first bought a PX4 storm a few years ago after comparing beretta, glock, sig, and SW. Though I liked the feel of the PX4, I had some stovepiping and FTF issues, with various types of ammo. I also had the front sight fall apart on me. Beretta customer service was worthless.

Sold it, bought a G17, and have had absolutely no issues at all. Just bought a G26, and may end up with a 19 to round out the family....

My father in law just got a PX4 Storm in .40sw and it is a very nice gun and is easier to handle/less recoil than my G23. I still like my G23 though.

Every handgun I have shot in 40 has less recoil then the Glock, lol

That's the choice I would have made too, congrats. I love the G19 though I've never had a G19c.

Why not? Have you ever shot one?
