I own the PM40, the PM9 and PM45. Of the three, I prefer to carry the PM45...much bigger bullet! But to answer the OP questions, the PM40 is a nice small, easy to conceal weapon. Can be pocket carried if needed, but I carry OWB. A little "snappy" but that's the .40 cal recoil. No problems with FTE or FTF issues. Get one if you can, you will not be sorry.

Don't much care for the 40 Caliber round especially in a small pistol. I'd say go with the PM9 or PM45. For the size of the pistol the 9mm round is a nice fit. Love my PM9. Been my EDC for 2 years.

I have one and love it. No functional problems and it is very easy to shoot accurately.

Hello all:

I owned a Kahr PM-40. It was a great gun, loved it, but it came with a curse.

One day I went to use it at the range, loaded it, chambered a round, pulled the trigger, pulled it again, and again. The trigger had come detached and did nothing but move back and worth, no bang.

Took it apart, noticed nothing unusual when I put it back together, then it worked for about 50 rounds.

Called Kahr and spoke to their rep (Dotty, Dorothy, something like that.) Telling her the problem she pointed out that there was a problem with that model--but that I had fixed it. I pointed out that it died again about 50 rounds later and she told me to send it in.

Promised a two-week turnaround, I was irritated as two weeks became three and then four, and still no gun.

When the Kahr did arrive home I saw that the repair order said nothing about a malfunctioning trigger!

Curious about this, I called Kahr and was told that the trigger worked perfectly and the gun was 100% perfect. That "perfection" lasted about 20 rounds....

KM

PS: The PM-40 came back with the barrel damaged by someone attempting to polish the hood on a wheel and leaving round indents on the top. Their rep said that they did not due that just tested the gun and sent it back to me.

I've had one a few years. A bit snappy....great for concealment though. The initial followers that came with the mags ended up breaking but so far the replacements have been fine. Trigger is awesome but long reset like a revolver.

I've had both. I got rid of the G27 fairly quickly, it was just too big, compared to the next size up Glock. The PM40 I carried for several years. It was easy to carry/hide. It never malfunctioned. I only got rid of it when I tried to standardize .45acp as my only carry caliber.
