I am getting a G21. The full size grip is a 2x4 so I am looking at the SF vs the Gen4.
Locally the SF is $549, and the Gen4 is $599. Which would you get?

I like the texture of the Gen4 but am thinking it will almost be to rough. Anything on the Gen4 make it worth more than the extra mag it comes with?

i just bought a 21sf(loveit)i like the single recoil spring(making it a 460 rowland)i also like the fact i can run a buffer(cant do that w/a gen4)but with no b/straps they say the gen 4 is slightly smaller than the sf,and i love the gen 4 texture, its up to you,the gen 4 has great reviews.

I love my 21SF RTF2 more than my other pistols (Springfield, S&W) it feels amazing.

I prefer third gens. For some reason I find it easier to get a better trigger pull than Gen4s IF you are into that. I have a G21SF and love it.

For me, the G21 Gen4 is worth the extra money. I don't own either model but have shot both pistols for 250 rounds each.

Gen4 has a better texture that's easier to grip when wet and a larger mag release that's easier to reach in my hand. The Gen4 grip texture (RTF3) is uniform around the entire circumference of the grip and it does "feel" smaller than the G21SF grip.

The Gen4 dual recoil spring handled recoil better for me judging by slight improvements in my split times for double taps.

We are upgrading two G30SF Gen3 pistols in our household to G30 Gen4 just to get the more aggressive grip texture and larger mag release.

Gen4 all the way. I have owned two G21 SF's and for whatever reason, the feel of the grip as well as a better trigger(IME) makes it a much better weapon-for me, at least.

I went and got the Gen4. The more I thought about it, the more I liked the little differences it has. Last one the shop had.

have a NIB Gen4 Glock 21 test fire date 22Oct12. It has weak ejection issues as well. No malfunctions at all with 250 rds fired for break-in. Just IMHO weak ejection, 2 to 3 feet to my 3 to 4 O'Clock. Love the 21 get on grip and recoil. I hope my weak ejection was ammo related.

If you watch Hickock45 on his new youtube on the gen4 21's parts #1 & #2 and watch the ejection (not shooting the gong, pig, or soda bottles just watch the ejection) you will see him get hit in the face and head. The ejection is weak on these two vid's. Then i dug up an old Glock 21 youtube of his (gen1,2, or3 idon't know what gen it is) and you see that that 21 ejects 8 feet to the right. You can hear the spent brass hitting his reloading table on this older vid. Hickock makes no mention of the weak ejection. "life is good" It's there you have to just watch the ejection, not his shooting.
