Sounds like a broken record but it is gonna be my next choice. I know some will say take whatever fits best in your hand.

Basically during the summertime I wore my G19 Gen4 in my Theis holster and it felt good inside of my somewhat baggy khaki shorts. However with winter time and the fact I wear tight jeans, it's uncomfortable trying to wear it. For months my mind has been made up to get a G23 Gen4 next purchase. Been reading about the great concealment of the G27 and its been swaying me. Especially with cargo khakis I can drop it in my pocket during the summer. I wanted to look at and hold an M&P Shield but you can't find them anywhere.

Bottom line do I take the G27 or do I smarten up and buy size bigger pants and carry the G23? Also to note that I put the large backstrap on my G19 and it helped me grip it better.

g19 and g23 same size. weight might be different due to type of ammo loaded. and you already know how it feels if you carry it during different seasons.

g26 and g27 same size. but if your not sure if it is more comfy to shoot and carry it. i suggest you borrow one preferably stock without mods and try it out. you can even bring your closet with you and try out your common dress code for different seasons with the borrowed g26 or g27. your current holster might still be compatible also.

usually common complaints on the subcompacts is the pinky finger... try out a grip extension if you can borrow one. but some would say you can still shoot well with the stock flush magazine without extensions. it just takes practice practice practice.

I also have both but why not just use an OWB holster. Problem solved and then you can use either one. FWIW, I would go with the G23.... and I do. That is my primary carry gun.

Bigger pants and the 23.

I have both and I never carry the 27. In my case I just have gotten to the point that carrying one glock over the other mostly academic. They're all basically the same to me know.

That's what I always do when I can't decide. ;)

I own both in 3rd gen and vote for the 23 hands down. If you shoot a 27 with Pierce Grip Extension, then why not just carry a 23? If you can handle the recoil of the 27 without the grip extension, then a 27 might be best.

Exactly. If you are going to add the extension to the 27, then just get the 23 and have 4 extra rounds. The only benefit to the 27 is if you can shoot it well WITHOUT an extension... otherwise, get a 23.

The point of the extension is you can make the 27 grip/capacity the size of a 23
so you can make the 27 bigger but you cant make the 23 smaller,,,,,27 for the win

I understand your point of adding grip length plus capacity... then it might be worhtwhile. I have never understood just adding a pinky extension without an increase in capacity.

But if you want a bigger 27 with more capacity then just get a 23. I guess if you were only going to get ONE gun, and you intend to carry it more than shooting it, then it might be an issue.

Me... I have both, so it is a non-issue. When I carry a .40, its usually the 23 if I want more capacity and bigger grip, I carry the 27 when I want a smaller concealable package.
