OK here's the deal. I've got another handgun permit to fill. It's going to be a Glock but I don't know what.

Currently in the safe is a G19, G22, G23, and G26. I live in Jersey so I'm limited to 15 rounds (so no G17). I can't carry at the moment (because of NJ!) but I am interested in something I can carry when I eventually move to Florida.

I've ruled out owning any 10mm or .45 GAP.

I currently don't own any .45s so I'm thinking G21 or G30. But a .357 sig has always interested me as well.

Start talking me into something. I'm interested to see some opinions................

If you see it as a gun for self defense, then it's gotta be a second G19.
If you see it as a gun for fun and plinking, etc... than anything will do.

I did just buy a new 32c/.357sig., and after about 65 rounds, I can say it "does shoot"! I do like it, but then I already have a sig p229 in .357sig/.40/9mm. I will probably also buy a 9mm conversion barrel for the 32c, "just because I can"! :)

Get the Glock 27 a good match for your Glock 23

I vote for a 27. Maybe a 30S. Im a Sig Armorer and I haven't been impressed with what they're offering lately. If you go with a Sig, I would reccomend something older and German made like a 228, 225 or older American 239.

Since you have no 45 and moving to florida I would look at the G30,30S,30SF any one of those flavors!
G30 is the best Glock IMO

For concealed carry there is not much in the Glock lineup that is smaller than the Glock 26, so if you wish something smaller for concealment another brand would probably have to be the choice. A Glock 34 can be alot of fun at the range and I like the balance of it a bot better than the G17. Notwithstanding the immediate situation, a .22 can be alot of fun to shoot for an afternoon for little cost compared to anything that center fire.

Get a Gen 4 G21 while you can still get three 13 round mags with it!

I'm ruling out other brands at this time. And to the suggestion for a Kahr, I've had a bad experience with them and their customer service in the past so they are no longer an option.

I'm mostly hearing G27 and G30. What about a G36? Is the size difference worth it compared to the G30?

G36 is low capacity and does not shoot as accurate as the G30!

2nd vote for Kahr CM9; give them another chance. I paid $410 out the door for my CM9 it has been 100% reliable with 300 plus rounds.

It is my carry gun in summer in Sticky Holster in front pocket of cargo shorts. Carry Glock 26 in fall and winter.

G27 if you must but remember that variety is the spice of life.

Variety sucks when you have a pile of ammo and mags in another caliper.

This is a fair point. I already have G22 and 23 mags that will work in a G27.

OK back to G30 for a moment. Can someone give me the pros / cons of the G30 verses the S and SF sub models?

The S is new. Its like a G36 slide on the 30 frame.
The SF is shorter grip front to back.
The con of the S might be more felt recoil but its a New gun so don't think anyone knows here yet.

G17 with 10rd mags or G32/31(depending on your size preference).

Just buy a G-32 OEM barrel for your G-23 and discover the wonder of .357sig. Cheaper option than buying a new gun.

Libertarian71

Buy a KKM Glock 31 barrel for the Glock 22. Drops right in, and you can shoot .357 SIG, which is like shooting a hot loaded 9mm. And you will not need new magazines; the .357 SIG cartridges will work in the G22 magazines.

The Glock 30SF is another sound choice; but I prefer the .357 SIG cartridge.

OK, after reading the comments and researching some stats, here's what I'm going to buy (in order):

1) G30SF
2) G27
3) G31 barrel for the G22

Good comments all!

Not trying to change your mind, just offering my opinion for what it's worth. I've owned my G36 for a year now. Had a few other .45's before it and when I decided to finally get my first Glock, I looked at all of them and tried to be open minded. I love the .45 and carried the SA compact micro 1911 for several years as my EDC. The smaller Glocks were the most appealing. I had shot my buddy's G26 and it was OK but I have big hands and it just didn't seem to fit. And I wasn't sure I wanted to go with the 9mm after having .45's for many years, reloading equipment etc. When I picked up the G36 it instantly felt good and fit my hand. The narrower and longer grip was just right for me, and the gun being (at least at the time) the slimmest of the Glock line made it an easy decision for me. And being so light, (22.5 oz empty) it even compares to the 26. In fact my buddy and I weighed each of them with full mags, (mine with 230 gr) and the 36 only weighed 2 oz more than the 26. Not long after I bought the 36 I had my renewal CHL class and shot a 245/250 with it, so I think it shoots fine (with stock sights too). And the recoil is smooth and manageable, which was a surprise to me, as well as my Glock owning buddies that have shot it. Every one has been surprised at how smooth a shooter it is. It carries and conceals easy and has been a perfect replacement for my 1911 micro.

Point is, until you handle a lot of the Glocks and see how they feel, I would hesitate to make a decision. I'm not disputing any other opinions of those who posted in this thread! My Glock experience is much limited compared to the rest of you for sure. Just wanted to offer my .02

Cheers!

Get yourself a 21, you wont be sorry.

That's where I'm going now. Only buying hi cap (> 10 rounds) firearms until the madness calms down. If the worst happens, and everything more than 10 is banned, I'll still be able to get a G30 as its a 10 shot.

Like others said, get a 357 barrel for your 23 or 22!!!

Then, buy a 21sf or 21gen4! A 30 is too close to the size of your 19 and 23... just carry those or your 26.

Get the 21sf or gen4!!!!!

You spend a lot of breath trashing non German sig pistols. Are you a Certified Sig Pistol Armorer, have you notified Sig of your findings and specifics as to known problems and specific poor/cheapest mim parts they are using? Can you let the rest of us in on what parts need replacing? Thank you.

I'm in that summer, T-shirt under and un-tuck shirt, IWB and carry from 1911s to H&ks full size, or Sigs, gun is going to get wet no matter what size it is

If it's Glock, I like it ! However, if you are going to carry for comfort even the Glock 27 at 19+ ounces empty becomes very heavy when loaded with a mag. full of 180s and hard to hide in light clothing ! With a coat or even a jacket any Glock can be hidden. If you expect a "shootout" find a way to carry the Glock. For "last resort" self defense in summer clothing I carry either a Smith Bodyguard 380 or the 22 Magnum 8 shot revolver. With todays ammunition either will surprise you !!

I live in a commie state and can't carry so that doesn't matter a whole lot at this point. Plus I already have some CCW pieces for when I eventually leave here.
