Since I do not presently have a duty sized 9mm, I figured I should act now before/if any new crazy legislation gets passed. I was looking at a G34 but came across a like new H&K P30 with night sights that I couldn't resist as I really like how they feel in my hand. I will be picking it up this weekend.

Anyone here have any experience with the 9mm P30? Anyone carry one? The folks over at HKPRO give it very high marks.

I like it a lot. The grip feels really good. What trigger/V version are you getting. I like how it shoots but dont care too much for the mag release. All in all its a good gun. One of the ranges I shoot at has a HK P30L V3 in the rental case that I have been shooting.

Yes, mines the V3 DA/SA with the rear decocker. It is the one in the pic I posted above.

I have a P30 LEM and have been shooting over 40 years & while I am partial to revolvers, it is in my opinion the finest polymer 9mm available.

About 2 years ago I sold off almost all of my Glocks after having a number of problems with them in 9mm and .45acp and went almost exclusively to HK P30 pistols as my primary concealed carry guns and home defense guns.

My model of choice is the P30S which is the model that is DA/SA and has the manual ambidextrous safety with the rear decocker. They are great pistols, built like a tank, very accurate, have some of the best ergonomics on the market, and have very high quality control. I have even grown to like the magazine release better than the "traditional" location on most standard handguns. It can be activated without changing my grip with my trigger finger. Very clever.

Over on PistolTraining.com Todd, the main moderator (who also is on here from time to time), put more than 91,000 rounds of pretty active shooting through one before any major malfunction. Pretty impressive.

I have four of them so needless to say I'm a big fan. I think you'll be very happy with your choice. If not shoot me a PM and I'll take it off your hands.

Todd Green's ran for somewhere around 92,000 rounds. He feel's it's the best polymer gun out there. HK makes a great gun.
