Gun show day!

About 3 times a year, a collectors organization holds a huge gun show at the Reliant Center in Houston, Tx.

I love walking around this show, the mix of historical and new. It does take an hour or more to walk all the tables... It's a great time.

So I'm heading up there in a few minutes and was wondering: for people who have gone to shows lately, has there been a rush of bad decisions by inexperienced gun buyers?

I'm thinking of selling my gen3 G30, and was wondering if you thought I could get $500 for it?

I bought it used in mid '11, but figured if there's such a panic, why not take advantage and sell/trade up for a Gen4 G30 or even a Gen4 G30S.

If I can't find something to buy, I have my GSSF cert in my pocket and can go that route if needed...

I figured if a noob who doesn't do their homework wants to pay that much, I'm willing to part with it.

Any thoughts?

I really like the HGCA shows - I had it marked on my calendar --

I do not need anything - but it is still a fun show.


I can't decide if it is worth it now - 45 minute drive - $10 to park (or is it $20 now?) + $10 to get in the door.

Normally it would be worth the trip --but I may sit this one out - hate fighting the mass of people.

IMHO $500 for the G30 is a little low - a new one with tax will be close to $700 - I would start at $575 - sell it for $550 - assume it comes with all the normal stuff - mags & case.

$200 for the 33 round mag seems high - but there may be a buyer for it.

If you can post to GT from the gun show - let me know how crazy it is - I may make the trip.
