the gap is normal....look at it like a little buffer zone when you pop your mag into the magwell...

no need to clean it after 30 rounds unless you're bored or anal....i personally clean my guns anywhere from 100-250 rounds depending on how dirty my ammo was and when i plan on shooting it if i shoot 100 and im going back to the range in the next couple days, i'm not going to bother....but if i shoot 100 and won't be heading out for another couples weeks, i'll clean it....usually every 500 rounds or so, i do a full detail'll get a hundred different answers from a hundred different people what works best for you....

i should add that when i go to the range, i usually shoot 100-250 rounds depending on how im feeling...

and now after re-reading what i wrote, i could have just come out and said after every range trip for the most part....i think it's time for bed ha

the G22 is a good one.I always clean my guns after I fire them no matter how many rds I shot.but you will be ok to not clean it .the gap is normal dont worry about it.I have carried and use the G22 for 10 years on duty.I like it.

I clean mine after shooting but I'm really just inspecting for anything not looking right.

I also just enjoy taking it down and putting back together.

Have fun with the new firearm! And don't overclean it... I personally lean towards a less is more approach.
