View Full Version : Glock 26...Gen 3 or Gen 4
What's your opinion? Buy a gen 4 or gen 3 26?

I would buy a gen 3, if given the choice. The gen 4 26's don't seem to have the issues the other gen 4 guns have though.

gen 4 without a doubt
jucs,
I own a Gen 3 (and love it!) but I have shot a Gen 4... honestly flip a coin? You could not possibly go wrong buying either one. :dunno:
If I had your choice right now... I would go for the latest version.
Gen4 which I have. I prefer the grip.
Gen 3 are cheaper. If you love the new grip of the gen 4 then get that one.

I went with a Gen4. I like the grip, and the large mag release.
Are the "upgrades" worth the extra money to you? They were to me, but may not be to others. To each his own.
Gen 4 has slightly smaller grip front to back, larger magazine release that is interchangeable left to right, dual recoil spring, and comes with three magazines.
Gen 3 for me.

If you like the gen 4 grip...go that way, if not get the gen 3. The gen 3s fit my hand like a glove. Happy they still make gen 3s.

Gen 3 - there are still some problem with Gen 4s, I hear.
I have both. Both are ultra reliable, very nice guns. They both have about 5K rounds through them, but I doubt the gen3 will ever get to 6K - I don't shoot it any more because I like the gen4 so much better.
Just picked up a Gen3 G26 and I like it just fine.Of course, the way the Glock supply is in the US at the moment, I was happy to find a NIB G26 at all!

Gen 4. I have 3 gen 4 26's. Love the RTF frame.

Gen 4. The slightly reduced grip combined with the RTF frame fits like a glove to me and I have good sized hands. The big mag release is great too.
I like the smaller grip on the Gen4, but I haven't been able to justify the purchase yet when my Gen3s work so well.

I prefer the Gen 4. Wife has a Gen 3. I get a better grip on the Gen 4. Both have been very reliable though.
Gen 3 is cheaper, but you get an extra magazine with the gen 4. I am not sure how much you save in you buy another magazine for the gen 3. Glock magazines in my area are all gone. I have not seen one in months.
