Anyone else planning on ordering 10 round Glock mags soon in anticipation of hi-cap mag ban? Thinking of ordering some 10 round G19 & G22 mags. I'm not too concerned about it... I just got a feeling that if the hi-cap ban passes congress there might be a shortage of them with everyone trying to get them in a rush. :dunno:

Nope.

If, and that is a big "if", the 94AWB is re-enacted there'll be plenty of them around since that would be the magazine capacity limit in the law.

Besides, long ago I laid in a HUGE supply of non-neutered mags after the last act of idiocy (the 94 AWB) expired.

Sure hope you did the same.

Why buy 10-round mags? During the 1994-2004 ban, pre-ban mags were lawful to use.

IF it comes to that, there will be plenty of time to buy them.

The shooters in NY will covet them but those of us in the free states are gobbling up full capacity mags, not the weak ass 10 rounders.

The only thing that will be in short supply will be pre-ban mags. Personally I think stockpiling 10 round mags would be rather foolish.

Nope. Obama's proposals will not make it through the house. I wouldn't want or care about 10 round mags unless I was unlucky enough to live in New York.

They are normal capacity magazines, not high capacity. The 10 rounders are crippled capacity magazines.

No, I am not buying any.

Guilty as charged. I ordered and received 2 ten round Glock 23 mags from B.T. Just wanted to be prepared for any crazy laws coming down the pipe. The 23 is my everyday carry.

True... didn't think about that right off the bat.

I'm really not that concerned about it either. I'm fairly confident they won't pass, but was just a mild thought I had on my mind in case they did.

Well, 10 rounds mags have been banned in NY now, so unless Glock starts making 7 round mags, the New York is pretty much out of luck.

If they did that they would be complying with bs laws. In return they could end up like SW did in 2000.

I will keep what I have, with no plans ever to get 10 rounders. I mean Hi cap and Glock go together!

Ten round mags being banned is not entirely true. According to the new law we have until 15 April to obtains re 10 round mags but no more over 7 rounds past that date.
At that point we can own 10 round mags but are only allowed to load them with 7. We have until the new registration period to get rid of all our mags of over 10 round cap.

The Feds may not be able to do much, I'm more worried about individual states banning and restricting like NY.

What's wrong with them selling stuff that everyone can buy. That's the reason for a 10 round 17 mag anyways. I'd say that not having the option would be worse than them complying.

Here in the Soviet Socialist Republic of California, it is unlawful to sell or transfer magazines in excess of ten rounds. It is not unlawful, however, to possess them. I believe that a ten round limit is unconstitutional under Heller and McDonald, as the handguns in the country most commonly in use are between 13 and 19 rounds.

I hope my great state of NY is a wake up call to all of you not to give an inch.

We went from high-caps to 10-rounders to 7-rounders. What's next? 0-rounders?

Our pre-ban high-caps are now also banned and have to be turned in, revoking the prior grandfather clause, taking away our existing property.

Remember the Alamo!
Now it is Remember NY!

I hope the NRA and other civil rights organizations mount a legal challenge to the New York magazine law.

You can still carry the 15 round mags if the ban does happen you just wont be able to buy them or manufacture them to the public.

Or permanently modify standard capacity magazines that hold more than 10 rounds to accept only 10 rounds, loaded with 7, unless at certain qualifying rifle and pistol ranges. WE ARE IN HELL! AVENGE US 49rs! AVENGE US!

If it passes I will get a few for the range to save wear and tear on my standard capacity mags.

I guess the best option will be carry a couple extra mags or move. :dunno:
