Hey guys, I am going to purchase a "Baby Glock" to complement my Gen 4 G19. I found a great deal on a brand new G33 Gen 3 at the local dealer. Before I make the purchase, I would like to get some thoughts from the guys who already have a .357 SIG. I will use it for CCW and some occasional recreational shooting. Should I go with another caliber in the same frame gun? Any comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've not fired nor owned a 33, but if I could find one, I would buy it. I figure if the 357 muzzle blast and 'snap' is a bit much, I could drop in a .40 conversion barrel and rock on.

Edit: I should mention that I ccw'd a G27 for several years, stoked with Corbon 135 or 150gr ammo. I wouldn't think that the 33 would feel that much different??

357 sig is a little expensive to shoot but to me it's worth it. Just recently got into the round and love it.For me I get back on target a little quicker than .40 cal.

Don't buy it, since if you do, you will buy a 32 and properly even a 31.
If you buy the 33, you can buy the reduction barrel and shoot 9mm as well.
The .357 SIG is the best self defense caliber in my book.
I CCW a .357SIG firearm since it came out in 1995.

It's my carry firearm this week...

I load my own ammo, so it doesn't cost me any more to practice with than the other .355" calibers.

For carry, I've got Hornady Critical Defense 115 gr. in the pipe and in the magazine in the pistol, and Speer 125 gr. Gold Dot for the spare/backup magazines.

It is a lot of fun to shoot (really loud!) and the brass is super-easy to locate afterward for reloading.

Sounds like this is the one I'm getting guys. If any of you find a site with bulk ammo in stock for this gun at a good price, please let me know.

My first Glock was a G33. Then I bought a G32, then I bought a G31. Now I own the entire family. I like all 3 but carry the 33 the most. Great little gun.

That said if I had a G19 I would be more inclined to buy a G26 due to ammo and magazine interchangeability. If you already have .357sig ammo around it is not a big deal.

I have a G27 with an extended ported 357 Sig barrel and 357 mags.
I much prefer shooting and carrying in 357 Sig.
The sweetness is if I run into problems getting the ammo?
I can drop in the 40 S&W barrel and mags.
Seems like I can always find some 40.
I've got four 357 Sig handguns.
And have 40 S&W barrels and mags for three of them.

That was my thinking, but can't find a 26 in my area. I could add a 9mm conversion barrel later on I guess.

I have barrels and mags for all three calibers.
These days a convertible gun make more sense than ever.

Awesome. The one I found is NIB for 499. The only 26 and 27 I have found are 550 or more.

I Edc a g33. I absolutely love 357sig. I bought a g32 first and really liked it and decided to switch my Edc from a g26 to a g33. I'm pretty used to shooting 357, but I do think the 32 is more comfortable to shoot and a little smoother. That being said the g33 is awesome but mine took probably 300 rds before I was used to it. No better carry gun than a g33 IMO.

I agree. with the ammo issues convertibles are the way to go. for my 23 I have all three and those barrels will fit my 27 also. my 23 is carried with a G32 barrel and HSTs.
in the 27 I usually stay with the .40 shooting 180grn HSTs, it much easier to shoot than the sig rounds for me.
when I do carry the 27 in 357sig I like the 32 barrel for the little added velocity.
