View Full Version : G22 15° extractor cut
When did they start making the 15° extractor cuts on the G22s? I looked at the serial number project, but did not find anything on the G22s.

I also have a 1999 two pin Gen 3 G 19 that is not so cut with a machined extractor.
My guess is sometime between those two dates, Danny R or Butch would most likely know the exact date. SJ 40
I was not specific enough in my post. I meant to specify gen 2 G22s. IIRC, all the Gen 3s have the cut, but what about the gen 2s? Did they ever make any gen 2 G22s with the 15° extractor cut?

Funny because I also have a 1999 2-pin G-19 which does have a 15-degree cut. Also, the Glock Armorer's manual I got from 2000 already mentions the 15-degree cut. So I'm guessing the 15-degree cut began transitioning sometime during 1999. It would make sense if Glock used up whatever older (90-degree) slides first.
But as to G22s, IDK. Didn't all .40 cal and 9mm Glocks share the same slide and frame (ie: 2-pins) at that time?

Gen 2? IDK, but I doubt it. Gen 3 Glocks came into being in 1987(?) And it seems gen 3 guns until 1999 still had the 90-degree extractor cuts.
Found this record in the Glock Serial Number Research Project (http://www.stakhaus.com/) database:
BKD*** G-22 GEN 2.0 1995-05-01 Begin 15o Extractor cut this model
The Armorer's Manual U.S. Addendum (Page 4) notes that the 15° Ejection Port Cut Change first appeared in December, 1994. If memory serves, from the Armorer Course I recall the Instructor said the 15° cut appeared first in the 45ACP/10mm pistols and the other models followed later.
