Thanks for the concern, fellas. We're OK. Cuts, contusions, soreness, & a definite sense of adventure. And gratitude to a fine pilot who kept it from being a LOT worse in the last seconds when the aircraft suddenly lost power.

Appreciatively,
Mas

Glad you all made it out in one piece. Sounds like you owe the pilot a six pack.

Glad you are ok, Mas!

Times like this I remember the words of my flight instructor: "Take-offs are optional, landing is inevitable and mandatory. Any landing that you walk away from is a good landing!

I have a huge problem with Massad Ayoob! That deep monotone voice reminds me of your better than average early 80's porn star so every time I hear him on tv or the web that Bow Chica Mow Wow music kicks on in my head and drowns out everything he's saying! Other than that, I never pass up reading anything written by him! Glad everyone is OK Mas!:wavey:

Good to hear that Mas is okay. Since he is a young pup he should heal up fast.

As someone else said, Mas is now a member of a very elite club.

We helicopter pilots just beat the air into submission.

Get well soon Mas.

"Who has been through a helo crash?"

Mas raises his hand

"Ok, we're good then"

Glad you're ok. Hate to lose you.
I bet that first Rolling Rock tasted sweet that night.

The only thing you can assume is that he, like Joe Sarno (http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0014902/), is a survivor.

So it auto-rotated down? They say any landing you walk away from is a good landing, so glad you walked away from it!

The big question here is though... did your life flash before your eyes?

Glad to hear everyone is all right. That doesn't happen often in chopper crashes. Dont' ever play the lottery again. You have used up all of your luck.

True. For auto-rotation to work, you need the blades.

A friend of mine was in an Army Huey that crashed the exact same way. He was sitting by the door, and saw the blade strike a tree and fly off.

It didn't end as well as Mas' crash.
