View Full Version : G 30 S in Gen 4?
I noticed the new Glock 30S is built on a Gen 3 SF Frame. I would think they would have used a Gen 4 one. Any word on why?

I would bet since the 30S uses the 36 slide and there isn't a 36 Gen4 yet...that is the reason...will they make one???...who knows but they will have to engineer (which may or may not be a simple process) a Gen4 G36 slide to make a Gen4 G30S which would be my top choice...if not, I may just get a G30 Gen 4 as I prefer the larger magazine release and the pattern of the Gen4 frames...plus the 3rd magazine...

That and if I remember right the G30S was kinda done for the LAPD and gen 4's are not legal in California
Only gen 3's are grandfathered in

that may be true but the "G30S" has been a combo made for years by end users just called the G30 Recon...GLOCK just got around to making what many users already made...I'm glad they did...

+1.
I have a well worn police buy back Gen 3 G21. Shoots anything and never complains. I also have a Gen 4 G19 that is having FTE issues. My FFL is looking for a 30s for me. I am happy it is the Gen 3 SF.
