Now that I bought my first 1911 I need some accessories for it. I am looking for a good holster (leather), and some extra magazines for it. I have looked around on Brownells and a few other sites, there are a lot of choices. Which magazines are good and which ones do I need to stay away from?

Wilson, Chip McCormic, Metalform, Megar, all have worked well with any of my 1911s, and work well for others I know as well.

My Ruger mags have been flawless but I religiously use Wilson 47D's in all my 1911's. They are about the same price as factory Ruger mags also. They just work great in about any 1911.

Any suggestions for a good holster? I currently am using a handmade holster for my G19 from a local leather maker.

I have never heard of the Wilderness Belt, looks interesting. I might try some of those Wilson magazines. They seem to be around the same price as Ruger's.

Mags are gun dependent, not by brand or model You need to take a chance and see what works best in your gun.

Holsters the same-- user dependent. You will go through 10 to find 2 you like.

Start here for leather:

I have been buying Kimber Kimpro TacMags for my Sig 1911 and they work great. Plus at $27.99 they're cheaper than most other mags.
