Welcome to GlockTalk!

'Milled slides' as compared to what? Are you talking about a brand of aftermarket slides?

I'm talking about the slides which have peices of metal milled/cut out of them. Sorta like the raptor slide from the glockstore.

Slides with such mill cuts are normally made for one of three reasons, for cosmetics (appearance), to reduce slide weight (so it will better function with a specific load/spring/compensator combination), or to enable the use of a ported barrel.

Generally speaking, it seems to me that the lighter a gun gets, the worse the recoil gets. Whether it's slide weight or from anywhere else on the gun.

I consider it a frill that has no use to me and I wouldn't go for it.

The G34 & G35 come milled from the factory. Everything else is aftermarket. I had my G26 slide milled to hold a RMR red dot sight.
