23 or 23c

I'd be very interested in hearing the forums opinions regarding the 23 vs the 23c.

Especially in a concealed carry, defensive role, as well as for occasional range shooting.

Is it better to get the 23c over the 23?



Also, could you install a non-ported Lonewolf 40-9 barrel, or a non-ported Glock .357 sig barrel into a compensated slide without any malfunctions ?

For concealed carry get the 23. My experience with ported barrels is that they increase muzzle blast, and with some loads you get the blast of fire out the top which is rather disconcerting at night!

Ther advantage of the porting though would be reduced muzzle flip... but if you are recoil shy with the 40, then get the 9mm 19.

I'd call around, find a range that has both available as rental guns, and try it. If not, try posting in a regional forum and see if you can shoot someone else's GLOCKs in exchange for ammo, range fees, whatever. Hands on is the best way, and it seems to be a personal preference thing for a lot of people.
