Or does the STI Trojan grip look like it is at a different angle to the slide than other manufacturers? I've been saving for a while and now I'm ready to buy. I want to by the STI because of all the great recommendations and I just can't afford the TRP.

I've always been leery of buying used too. So, if it is just an illusion on the angle of the grip, I'm buying the STI. Owners of said STI, please let me know.

It's a 1911 frame with the same grip angle.

I find that the front strap is more squared on the Trojan than most 1911's. Then again, it could be just me. :dunno:

The trigger guard is undercut. That might have something to do with how your viewing it.

STI has a lifetime warranty on the gun, no matter if you're the original owner or the 10th owner.

This is going to be my daily carry piece too. I probably should go ahead and go the hard chrome rout.

Same grip angle. I think it's a combination of serration spacing and number. Optical illusion. Angle of serrations may be slightly different than some guns, adding to the effect.

Excellent news!

I nearly always buy my guns used. In my area full sized. Used 1911's are common as dirt. Most people buy a full size find it is hard to carry then trade it in for a smaller carry gun, resulting in lots of deeply discounted full size guns around

Only thing that counts is if it feels right to you, Hoagfish.

This. They have a thicker, squared front strap similar to Les Baer and the old Springfields.
