Maryland is trying to shove Senate Bill 281 down our throats. It entails an assault weapons ban (with the one feature test of an assault weapon), ten round mag limits, and licensing and registration to buy guns. Also, anyone under 21 would NOT be allowed to possess ammunition of any sort.

Annapolis is having a hearing on Wednesday at 1pm, and I probably won't be able to take off work because of that scheduling (intentional on their part), BUT my county is having a public Q&A forum on Thursday at 7pm (Howard county).

Can y'all help out with listing some talking points, retorts to common anti-gun rhetoric, and questions for the county execs / lawmakers who may be in attendance? I'm hoping this turns out like the video of the NY state forum where all the gun owners recited the Pledge and accosted the elected officials for being traitors

(See if I am correct in this..)

Butcher in MD and me here in NY have similar difficulties- we both worked our asses off doing the Protestant ethic, hard work thing to provide for our families and not be depending upon anyone. We made our way and gathered some considerable possessions over the years.
For myself, moving will be accomplished, but the losses will be substantial and the stress hard to bear as I have relatives staying.

By keeping our shoulders to the grindstone and working ourselves into fatigue states for years, we (I may be too presumptuous in speaking for another, here) did not allow ourselves the luxury of time to participate enough in political activities. Therefore, it might be said we (at least I) have contributed to this incredible mess.

Anyhow, my reflections are mine and mine alone, as are my rewards and punishments. RANT over.

Close enough ;) no big family to provide for just me and my lady. Otherwise accurate :-)

Wasn't able to testify in Annapolis today cuz the senate building was closed due to fire code regulations. TOO MANY PEOPLE SHOWED UP TO OPPOSE!! Delegate Don Dwyer said it is the first time in his 11yr career he has seen the place shut down for overcrowding! Yay :)

About four thousand people showed up for the rally. Maybe more? Check out my favorite clip where one of the legislators announced that the Maryland State FOP is opposed to the bill: Maryland State FOP oppose gun ban - YouTube
