Went to Wal-Mart and found one for $229.99. Customer next to me wanted to purchase it for his grandsons birthday so I passed on it for him.

Went to Gander and found it there at same price. Went to my work and picked up the softcase and cleaning rod.

Good looking rifle, I bought the 10/22 takedown for my grandson this summer. What a nice gun, shoots great and lives up to all its hype.

Great find! PS: Don't tell certifiedfunds about this. He's looking for one but can't find one anywhere. He's not gonna like you ;)

Congratulations. Great little rifles. I had a half dozen at one time, but am down to only one now. They can be like peanuts.

Great gun, I've owned one for almost 25 years, I can only imagine how many rounds have been through it.

Never a malfunction, will eat any ammo, a blast to shoot and accurate. What more could you ask for?

I want a take own one but can't find one. I bought the stainless model a few weeks ago. I noticed the new one has more plastic then what I remembered from the one I use to own

I bought mine 41 years ago for $72.50. The quintessential .22 rifle, the Ruger 10/22 is a must have for everyone's collection.

Gave my Son a stainless 10/22 for his b'day and put a cheap red dot on it. We argue over who shoots it first every time we go to the range. Everybody should have one.

Lipsey 22" barrel version. Nice shooter. My son has the takedown version and its a sweet shooter as well.

To the OP -- assuming this is your first, welcome to the club! http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/drinks.gif

Have two myself -- one of the old stainless/laminated green ones from Wal-Mart, and a standard one. I fell into the modification trap, and both are heavily reconfigured at this point. But they're totally great in their original configurations.

I need to go back to a little LGS Around here and see if they still have the Boy Scout version. It was about 370 and I am an Eagle, would make sense to have it next to my grandfathers 10/22

Looks like a nice rifle at a reasonable price. The one 5hing that amazes me regarding guns is how many years gun manufacturers sell the same model over and over. In virtually every other industry, a product becomes obsolete and replaced with a new model shortly after you buy it. What makes the gun business so different that nobody says, "that gun's a dinosaur", you should have bought the latest and greatest model xxx? Glock is now up to gen 4, but how drastic are the changes really, from their original design?
AR-15's are another prime example of an old design still selling like crazy with strong demand today.

Congrats. There are fun little rifles. I have had several of the years and just recently purchased one of the Talo mannlicher versions. It had a great walnut stock, which I promptly cut off to sporter length and refinished. It turned out great. I have since added a Kidd trigger kit and waiting for my scope to get here. I hope you enjoy yours and by the way that was a nice gesture in WM.

If you did not have one it was about time!
There should be a law to have a 10/22 in every house, along with a 1911 and AR!
America would be safer!

This will be the first thing you will want to do to it. Easy fix.

Now you need to start modifying! Caution: 10/22 tinkering can be highly addictive..

I thought I was done here:

Green Mountain 18" heavy
Hogue stock
Kidd cocking assembly
UTG bi-pod
El Cheapo red dot (soon to be replaced w/ scope)
Home brew trigger job (a pretty dang good one too)
Radiused/chamfered bolt
Nylon bolt buffer
Trigger over-travel stop

But then I had to get the Mueller APV. I think it is done now.
