You are thinking of CROOK (Cook) County!
I'm a lot closer to Wisconsin than to Chicago!

Seems like 2 seperate states. Chicago and then there is Illinois. Chicago needs to be its own state and leave the rest of us alone

Glad to see so many glock owners here. I hope you all have looked at www.illinoiscarry.com. its a great site devoted to ccw in illinois. Cjeck out the "illknois politics" section of the forum, and please do what you can to be involved in helping us get a good concealed carry law here. Its coming june 9th, but we may get a bad bill if our state reps dont vote to keep out bad amendments. Acevedo and mccarthy would like nothing more than to keep civilians unarmed. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. It only takes a few minutes of your time.

Crook county is it's own state, I live about an hour from STL. Had a Gen4 19 and switched to a G36.

Crook County can't afford to be its own state. It needs the remainder of Illinois to pay for its infrastructure and social services. And crime. Don't forget the crime.

Yep. I'm down south, and we have basically nothing in common with the special interests of Cook County. They need to conduct their own affairs, and let the bottom 4/5 of the state conduct its own.

Sure, if you like the idea of spending $1000 to get a permit and having to memorize the ordinances of 220 home rule communities. Sounds like a gem!

As I read the latest ammendments and Raoul is saying now, Fee is $150, 16 hrs training and homerule preemption for all handgun laws.

Maybe I am understanding it wrong?

Glock owner from Lake County, IL here!

If there are any Glock owners in the area that are in need of Glock armorer's services, Ken's Sports / Glockkrieg in Wauconda, IL is the place to go. As a smaller shop, they have better prices than the bigger gun stores and chain stores in the area.

In addition to Glocks, I own a few Sigs, Taurus', Ruger's.

I mean, it's good to practice. But the qual for an Illinois permit could be passed by a untrained monkey of limited intellectual ability.

Illinois' conflicting & ambiguous permitting laws just underscore the hatred the crook county politicians have for honest citizens who wish to exercise their 2A rights. The only difference between the old Daley Machine and the current crop of crooks is that Daley's gone.
