Can the .40S&W Shield be converted to .357sig?

I have yet to hear of anyone making a 357SIG barrel for it.

I imagine it could.

Can you get a barrel?

I am sure that a custom barrel maker could make a barrel. I am also sure it would be a very expensive option for what may likely be the first one.

If it was available, I would be 1st to be in line, as I am not a fan of the .40 round, but do think the .357 Sig is the best round for semi-auto handguns.

I wonder if an M&P .357 Sig barrel would fit, then have a gunsmith shorten the barrel (and re-crown) to Shield length!?!?!?!?!?

But then you're getting into a lot of expense. I'd think Smith & Wesson would see an opportunity to widen the Shield's appeal, even though they can't keep up with the current demand.
