Just picked this bad mofo up!! I have had some bad personal experience with the 1911's but LOVE them hopefully this will not disappoint me. So far don't see that happening with this one.

Thank you all for the kind words.

I have been young and poor and had to sell a Springfield Mil-Spec, and I have had a bad 80's series Colt. So everything on this one feels wonderful. I will be having to get to the range sometime this week for sure.
The trigger is just sooo clean with a short sharp reset too:wow:. World of difference from what I have owned so I'm hyped.

$1400 pistol ought to aim and shoot all by itself!

Beautiful looking pistol. Nothing I can afford at this time especially when I can buy two Glocks for that kind of money. But that sure is sweet looking!

LOL:rofl: Thanks, I think:freak:

It ok cuz I used to be you. I had the same mindset, I have bought and sold some though out the years and I already have a couple Glocks. The fact that you mention the Glocks just shows you just don't understand and its ok. Its like what alcoholics call "a moment of clarity" when you actual get a real gun! The quality is just far superior to every other handgun I have owned so it is hard to understand.

I have handguns, shotguns, "assualt" rifle, and supressors so for me it was QUALITY 1911 TIME!! In fact I'm even contemplating selling of the AR I never shoot for another 1911maybe the Dan Wesson Specialist or a Valor. Oh and when you "know" people sometimes you can pay less than retail. I can get good deals on CZ's too, sometimes it pays to know people in Kansas City!

This is so true! I have a 17L and a 24 which are nice and fun to shoot but when i grab the springfield longslide it takes enjoyment to a new level.

I like the treatment at the very bottom of the backstrap how its beveled looking. Nice touch for a carry gun. Aluminum or steel frame?

Just ran a few boxes through the gun at lunch and noticed 2 things. First is that the gun fires beautifully, no hicups at all. 50 rnds of Remington ball and 50 of Remington hollows. Everything fed great!
Second is that a compact 1911 is a beastly little guy. Nothign horrible inregards to recoil but :wow: makes you realy appreciate the checkering.

I need to get this out for some more fun just finding ammo around here is a pain in the A.

Well I hope you are happy! Now you have me wanting to save for a 1911. Possibly this summer if ammo becomes available.... now any suggestions for a first timers 1911 make and model that in all probability only be shot occasionally?
