I've had one of those for years, my friend. ;)

The Benneli B76 is a great pistol - fixed barrel, hard chrome trigger and hammer, sleek and sexy Italian styling, great accuracy, etc.

Gorgeous gun, while still remaining different looking from everything else; I like it!

Bac and I have exchanged words about them on this forum before. It is one of the last guns left on my "Bucket list".

They were an exceptional pistol unfortunately released about the time "double stack mania" was breaking out.

Yeah, the safety is a bit awkward, but I think its a fantastic pistol.

Its very under appreciated, sadly. However, that keeps prices in check.

Here's a pic I took of my B76 years ago with one of my Sig P210s. I think I was trying to describe how accurate the Benelli was by picturing it with one of the most accurate pistols ever built. :dunno:

At any rate, you can see my B76 came with everything from the factory. The magazines are hard chromed as well.

Lever-delayed blowback? Interesting.

I am kind of curious about all fixed-barrel semiautos, (other than pure blowback.)

It's a cool design for sure.

The FAMAS assault rifle also uses a type of lever delayed blowback system too.

They aren't terribly rare, but not exactly common either. There are none on Gunbroker right now, but I do see them on there frequently. They typically sell from $600 to $900 depending on condition.

Grab one while you can. They haven't been built in decades and will get harder and harder to find.

If I were you, I'd move it closer to the top.

Despite the B76 being of relatively low value, mine sits on my highest end gun shelf next to guns of over 5 times its value. That's how high I feel the quality of the gun is and also how much I like it.

Yah, I've been lax. We used to call them " poor man's Sig 210". J.B. Wood used to say it was his "take to the range every trip, gun" He would use it to establish a baseline for his shooting on given day when reviewing a new pistol. (Probably just an excuse to shoot it )

When the Benelli came out, they became rapidly popular with German handgunners and I was intrigued - to say the least.

The reports about soft steel and increasing problems during service were what turned me off. Besides, that pistol is definitely accurate and Benelli might have addressed those problems after I moved on.

That's interesting Andy

I was a bit young when the pistol was introduced. I think Benelli corrected the problem though.

At first I thought this could have been Bac, but then I started thinking the number was a little low :tongueout:
DHS Raids Gun Collector – Confiscates Nearly 1,500 Guns

According to search warrants that were filed on Thursday Homeland Security Investigations confiscated nearly 900 firearms from Adams’ home, 548 handguns and 317 rifles. They also seized 599 pistols and revolvers from his office.

Finally an advantage of my advanced age - and then I realize that I forgot the details:whistling:.

I looked it up in the book "9mm Parabellum" by König/Hugo, the Benelli suffered from an impact on the sharp edge of the frame that rounded the frame with extensive use. The repair was simple: a qualified gunsmith rewelded the step with a harder alloy.

For this to happen, extensive use with powerful loads was necessary. If someone has the $10,000 for ammo to shoot up in a gun, he can pay a few hundred to restore such a top-notch pistol, imho.

Very intersecting Andy

It's certainly a top-notch pistol.
