I got a Colt .45 and it's called the Peacemaker but I never knew why, I didn't understand, but Mama said that the pistol was the Devil's Right Hand.

Recap: I picked up this Colt Talo Edition SAA in .45ACP about a month ago. Blasted a couple of cylinders through it to make sure that it was more or less on target and that's about it. Last weekend, I took it out for another quickie 50-rounds run.

Like all single actions chambered for pistol calibers, the magazines make for handy reload carrier.

Starting at 7-yds, it was a rough couple of shot groups trying to get used to the fine front slide blade and narrow rear notch. The trigger is ridiculously sweet and I definitely fired off a few rounds before I intended to, but then once you get used to the sights and the trigger, things start to click.

However where it shines is not bullseye shooting but silhouette shooting with quick, one-handed, point firing technique. It reloads a might slow, but the first five or six rounds will go where they need to go. It may never be my first choice for defensive shooting, but it's still five or six shots for sure of .45ACP rounds.

It really is striking how natural the plow handled guns seem to just line up when one handed shooting from about waist's crazy.

Cool roscoe too, i actually like the stocks as well.

I've resisted buying one for the longest because I didn't want to get into the "hype". It ain't no "hype". I suppose there's a reason why the Colt outlasted the SW, Remington, M&H, and a host of other cowboy guns and it's not just Hollywood alone. The damn thing can shoot and shoot well.

My Ruger Vaquero and Blackhawks are like bricks when compared to the Colt.

I dearly love my Colt SAA (45 Colt). It is amazing before the word ergonomics was invented, Sam Colt, John Browning and others just figured it out.

If you reload, you can load up some 255 Keith SWC in the acp brass, they will be too long for a 1911 mag but they are fun out of a SAA.
